plee
I started this last year, but with a new baby it has pretty much sat and collected dust. So I decide to release what I have done and hopefully I can get back and finish it... Check the readme.txt for more info. - Paul missile.zip

plee
5200 Version Really don't remember how far along I got with the 5200 version but I know I needed to add trakball support and no individual base support instead the closest base/turret will fire...so consider this a work in progress that I hope to start on again soon - Paul 5200missile.zip

JB
WHOO! Add keypad support and it'll be the best dang Missile Command ever. ... Provided the analog sticks still work like in the official 5200 version. I don't have a trackball yet.

Provided the analog sticks still work like in the official 5200 version. I don't have a trackball yet. Here's some ideas I played with: Having the controller sideways and having the stick on the right/left (selectable) and the top row be the bases/turrets (might be touch on those keypads ) Using each one of the triggers for the bases/turrets (kinda ackward...) Almost Rice
I started this last year, but with a new baby it has pretty much sat and collected dust. So I decide to release what I have done and hopefully I can get back and finish it... Check the readme.txt for more info. - Paul 792970 Great game Paul. I had fun with my old trackball. I had one problem. Using Sparta 3.3 it load fine. In Mydos 4.53 on the MyIDE interface, it just loads and gives me junk on the screen and redraws the Mydos menu. What is the difference with Mydos. Atariboy2600
Cool Hack! Well here's my take on the label for the 5200 cart on Missile Command Arcade Edtion
Nukey Shay
Great hack. It really makes you wonder why Atari 8-bit games so rarely included controller options (coming from an Apple II background, this made no sense to me).
PacManPlus
Can't get the 5200 version to run on the real thing. It keeps crashing, no matter how I store it in the eprom. (damn)

(damn) 1013479 Just curious... Where does the crash happen? Is it during the same spot? Which system are you using (2-port or 4-port)? PacManPlus
Hey Dennis If I try just doubleing the bin (to 32K) it doesn't work at all. I expect that, because it's probably a 2 chip 16K setup (like Pac-Man). When I try doubling the first 8k, and then the last 8k (which works for Pac-Man) it crashes at the title screen, just as the first explosion starts. This also happens on the AtariMax USB 128 5200 Multi-Cart I have a 4 port system. Bob
DEBRO
Today was the first time I played the 5200 version via emulation. How are you all playing this? I can't fire and the joystick movement seems to be digital and not analog I'm using Atari800WinPLus.

Or release the source code? - Paul 1022642 I just recently ran across your enhanced Missile Command. It's a great effort. I'm just now really starting to get into 6502 Assembly programming on the Atari and I was wondering what tool(s) you used to reverse engineer the original? Also, releasing even a portion of the source code for your enhanced version would be great. It would be a great learning tool for people such as myself. Heck, I might even be able to contribute. -tjb
a8isa1
Paul has just released an A8 cartridge image (16K) of Missile Command+. Works great on both my 800 and 800XL. BTW, Paul's a great guy! I simply asked him if he was considering a cartridge version. A day and half later he had it knocked off! How nice is that? Here's the update. missile.zip

And after making all the necessary changes got it to compile exactly like the 8bit dump. Then, started making all the hacks! Since I really don't have alot of time to make further changes (fix the 5200 version!), I'm gonna attach the current source code. My hope is that group/individual will continue this hack! (Just give me alittle credit ) Enjoy! - Paul
