I've only had a chance to play one game since the last time, but I improved a little: 15,500

I almost made it past 1983 but I had lost a bunch of planes on the helicopter screen. Even though the '83 planes go faster than you, they're predictable so I actually found them easier than the helicopters.

I know if I had some more time I could make it to the top 10. Maybe tonight...

A little more time and I probably could have made a better show of it.

This may be the first week the HSC game thread has not gone past 3 pages!:o

Ive been in the HSC since the end of the last season, and this is the first time i havent bothered trying to beat my first couple of scores - this game really sucks, and i just can't bring myself to put in the time like i did with pacman, adventures of tron, or some of the other games......

roll on next week, and hopefully a bettter game!

I think a driving controller hack would be nice.
Keep in mind that the original arcade machine also used an 8-way joystick for control.

In quick succession, I end up losing all my extra lives in collisions with the UFO's in 2001. I can't avoid them. If I could get past that stage, I could put up a decent score. I may try again tonight, but I think I've lost my patience.

Just for your information, Ze_ro, I should be at 15 points, not 16. I keep track of my standings for each week and it appears you might have made an error.

Actually, you DO have 16 points... You scored 8 points in Beamrider, and 1 point in each of the other 7 games played... you also scored a bonus point during Week 3 (Spider Fighter) by beating the game's patch score.

It's a good thing you're keeping track though, because I've made mistakes in the past. Most of the process that goes into everything here is fairly reliable, but I add up all the points by hand, so there's bound to be a mistake or two from time to time. One of these days I'd like to put everything into an SQL database so that pretty much everything is automated... it would save me time in the long run, eliminate pretty much all chance of errors, and provide for some other neat features (like individual player score tracking and such)... but it'll be quite a while before I get enough time to set that all up.

And that's the end of another week of the High Score Club. I hope you all enjoyed a fairly unknown gem this week, and I hope you'll all join us again next week for Eggomania!

Ahem (cough, cough). No you didn't! The list was just screwed up when the forum change happened, and my name was chopped from the top.
Sorry. :P :D

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then..

I thought Malc74 was disqualified for using too much color in his post.

I see Malc's alleged higher score, that's beatable... :)

VGA, I had the INTV as my first system, there aren't any high score clubs here for it, sniffs sadly.
