Guys, Guys, Guys,

Its pointless us all bidding against each other. If the four of us all agree to bid Ģ50.00 each and take 1 game each (I want the space invaders) I'm sure the Ģ200 total bid would be enough to win it (unles the reserve is Ģ250 that is)

Strobe effects (especially Night Driver) in this day and age are hard to find. May cause seizures.

Iīve got an off-topic question, but it comes up reading this topic.
What does the text "Reserve not met" at ebay.com or any other ebay without german ebay mean?
Here in germany I havenīt seen this text til now. Could anyone explain it to me?

Thanks

Michael

Hi Michael

Reserve Not Yet Met means the seller has set a 'reserve price' for which he/she is not willing to sell the product below. For example, if you had a boxed and sealed Magicard or other mega rare item(lucky b*stard) you wanted to auction you could start the auction at $10.00 to get people to start bidding quickly but set a reserve price at $1000.00. Then if by the end of the auction the highest bid is under $1000.00(or whatever the reserve is) the seller reserves the right not to complete the transaction.

So consequently this auction is even more stupid. We get this kind of thing a heck of a lot in UK - its silly.
You'd never have guessed he was a (0) seller, would you?
Hey, why doesn't one of us do the 'ask seller a question'
something like:-
A question on your auction, is your copy of combat the normal version or the ULTRA ULTRA rare red text version.
See if he pulls his auction

@Fretwobbler

Thanks, at ebay.de you couldnīt set a reserve price, for the seller it is fine, but for a buyer it is hard, when he doesnīt met the reserve. I think without reserve price is better.

Lol, great action, I must get a credit.

Yes, in germany is no reserve price. And I think too this is better. If someone will a minimale price he must just set it as first bid price, if someone bid he has the price he wants.

I agree, reserve auctions do my head in. People who do reserve auctions should stick to selling fine art and furniture

Well he does state that ALL the games are TESTED and WORKING...So some of that reserve price probably goes back into the cost of research and the actual tests that were performed. Not a bad deal really.

Okay, okay, let's divide it up, Fretwobbler gets SI, Jess gets the Combat, I'll take that ultra-rare Centipede, and the Night Driver is up for grabs, then we all split the cost.

you guys are pretty cool in uk and usa. so cheap! here in germany we really like to ruin ourselves.

i think i really should get this atari 7800, it's only 500$ and has a much more advanced strobe technology. also the power adapter is amazing, and it's cable is really cool. and there's even 4 games included, so i save tons of money. star wars, that was this cool film from way back, man, this must be really rare.

i bet the console has a special impregnation by david crane's greasy fingers after eating the bologna sandwich.

that must be the reason why it's so rare ....

I can barely speak English never mind German but from the smilies(or frownies in this case) I would hazard a guess that this guy is a fake and he doesn't really have that ultra rare 7800 system he's advertising. He's just gonna take the money and run
