Coleco cart won't work

My 2600 Venture cart has stopped working. What can I do, besides the alcohol cleaning, to try and get it to work again?

That's all I get when I boot my 2600 carts in my 7800...

Hmm, try cleaning the cartridge slot itself also. See if that helps.

Warning,......this is for EXTREMELY dead carts......

 

 

Once I had a Dragster cart that was mega-dead. I mean, no-bringing it back DEAD. I used steel wool (0000) on the contacts. Worked like a charm.

 

Now don't go doing this to a Quadrun and get all mad at me when it doesn't work.

 

Just thought I'd share. I have only ever found one dead one over the years. Slot Machine. Not much of a loss anyway.

I just did the obvious and cleaned the cart with alcohol again. Worked like a charm. Thought since I cleaned it not too long ago that wasn't the problem....So "duh" on me for over-looking the obvious. I guess I can stop blaming Coleco for making junk (this time).
