I was at Thrift store today and in one store I saw a typical box of Pac-Mans and Combats. I figured I'd dig around a little anyway. I found what seemed to be a Combat cartridge, but the label read "Combat Rock".

I figured I'd take it home and see what it was about. Well I put it in, and it seems to function exactly the same as Combat except that it plays a really poor rendition of "Rock the Casbah" by the Clash while you play. I know it's hard to believe, but I dumped the ROM and you can see for yourself:

Paul, that's awesome! Alex and I were laughing our asses off as we listened to the music while playing Combat. Where did you find this cart? I'm wondering if there might be another one out there that has Ride of the Valkyries hidden in it.

Also, I hooked up a PS2 controller to my 2600 to try the Bologna easter egg, but it didn't work. It was then that I realized the Dual Shock doesn't have A/B buttons, so now I'm not sure which controller you wanted me to use..

that is TOO funny. Im never gonna play combat the normal way again. Combat Rock RULES!!!

(note: for the not too watch full/smart, please look VERY closely at the label. rock is in a softer colour than combat is and does not appear to be the same font. look at the letter O in combat and rock. so if you for some reason thought this actually was... well, Im not gonna finish) but ultimatly still very cool and me and my Mom love it. we are soo gonna play this game some time, thanks smart patrol.

Now *THAT* is a hack that I truly appreciate!

I hope it starts a whole new line.

That's it. From now on your hack can NOT be submitted with JUST changed graphics, it has to have a new soundtrack as well.

Ha, I can see this quickly turning into a thread about which soundtracks would go well with which games (hint, hint).
