I guess this was announced last week, but so far I hadn't heard any mention of it.
I'm pretty excited about it, since it has Forgotten Worlds and Ghouls and Ghosts. Full
game list is yet to be announced, but it looks likt a lot of titles from the "Capcom
Generations" series on the PS1 which never made it out of Japan. PS2 and XBox seem
likely, and GC is unclear. There is also a Mega Man X collection I would love to pick up...

A link for those who may be interested:

That Mega Man X Battle and Chase game sounds sweet! It sounds like a cross between Mario Kart and that old NES game BaseWars, which also allowed you to power your players up with machine guns and stuff when you beat another team. That would definitely be pretty sweet to have all 6 MMX games on one disc.

Looks like the game list has been announced:

1942
1943
1943 Kai
Mercs
Commando
Gun Smoke
Higemaru
Vulgus
Son Son
Street Fighter 2
Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Ghosts & Goblins
Ghouls & Ghosts
Super Ghouls & Ghosts (SNES)
Section Z
Forgotten Worlds
Legendary Wings
Final Fight
Trojan
Bionic Commando
Exed Exes

Looks like 22 games in all, with quite a few good ones. I'm not sure which games
are from the SNES except for Super Ghouls and Ghosts.

Are these coming to the GameCube definitely? The initial announcements
only said PS2 and Xbox, if I recall. If you have a link for the GameCube
release please let me know!

If these are the arcade versions, man this could be the single greatest comilation ever. Ever!
Perfect arcade Final Fight, Legendary Wings and Trojan would make this worth the price of admission alone.
NES Trojan in particular is one of the greatest games of it's type in my mind. Those battles against King Shreik are not likely to ever be forgotten. I've never had the opportunity to play the arcade version, but if it's there I'll be the very first in the pre-order line

Holy shit, I'll be snagging this if it makes to either Cube or X-Box.

Along these lines, does anyone know if a console version of Mega Twins/Chiki Chiki Boys exists? My daughter loves this game but since I'm usually on the computer, I'd like to find a non-MAME way for her to play it.

Oh, and Magic Sword being left off that list borders on criminal! Hopefully a Vol 2 will include it as well as Knights of the Round and perhaps the Dungeons & Dragons arcade games.

This is one case where the Genesis really does do what Nintendon't. You can find a pretty good conversion of Chiki Chiki Boys on that system... I highly recommend it.

I'm more steamed about the absence of Black Tiger, myself. What an awesome arcade game... it's a shame that it's never been ported to any home game console, even the NES. A loose conversion of the game was slated for that system, but it was never released in the States, or in its native Japan.

Damn! Just searched it and yep, that looks like a pretty sweet port, and there's even a couple on eBay for $1.99! Yoink!

Thanks much, Jess! I had no clue this was an early Genesis release. Just have to convince my daughter that it's the same game... we always call it Mega Twins since it's so much easier to say.

Oh, another Capcom game that got shafted - Buster Bros! I'm so glad I bought the PSX version when it first came out.

Hey, not a problem... that's why I'm here!

Buster Brothers... oh yes, now that's a game which I desperately wish had been ported to the Genesis. The Turbografx-16 got a conversion of the original arcade game, and the Super NES got Super Buster Bros. (natch!), but us poor Genesis owners? Nothin'. There's a cheap Chinese clone of the game but it's hardly the same thing.

I was always wondering about the characters in the intermission screens. They remind me a lot of the artwork on the original Dragonball (NOT Dragonball Z) television series. Is this just a coincidence, or did Akira Toriyama actually contribute artwork to the game?

3 different versions of SF2 and no SF1 and it's not like some version of SF2 hasn't been ported to almost every system since the 16 bit days. I know SF1 isn't that great by today's standards but it'd be nice to have it on there for history's sake.

Why can't capcom show the cube some more love and make this game for it?

If my ps2 still worked or if I had a box, I'd pick this game up. If you can't tell by now, I'm a huge old school gamer.

I actually have a CD-ROM for the PC that has the original Street Fighter and SFII CE. As soon as I find the website for this, I'll pass it on.
As for this collection, I'm buying it, although I would have liked some Street Fighter Alpha and/or Darkstalkers love... ;)

This collection has all 16 games that were on the Capcom Generation Vols. 1 through 5 (released for Saturn and PlayStation in Europe and Japan). I'm surprised that they decided to include Section Z, Bionic Commando, Forgotten Worlds, Legendary Wings, Trojan, and Final Fight. I guess they wanted to give the European and Japanese market a reason to pick it up even if they'd already purchased the Capcom Generation series. I'd have been even more suprised if they'd decided to include a number of games that are only one generation old (Darkstalkers, SFA) in the release.

I'm just glad that I caught wind of this before I sank any money into importing the Capcom Generation titles, seeing as each of them would have probably set me back $20-30. Although I suspect the prices will fall with this compilation coming out.
