I have found today my manual from Deadly Duck, and there was a list with games which will release soon.

These 2 games are:
Six Pack - Fast Lane Fun!
9 to 5 - Take This Game And Play It!

But I have never heard of them. Somebody now, if there are Prototypes of these games?

Maybe Tempest, do you know something about these games?

Thx for answer.

I don't know much other than Six Pack was advertised in the early manuals and then dropped. I'm guessing it was done by Sirius (who TCF bought their early games from) and not released for some reason. It may have been released for the 400/800, I'll have to check. Sirius released the same game under different names (one name for the 2600, another for the 400/800) so who knows.

9 to 5 I don't know anything about other than it was probably going to be a dud of a game (like Porky's). Games based on non-action movies just don't work. I doubt it ever got past the concept stage but who knows for sure.

There's actually a few more TCF prototypes:

Pick-Up - Recently discovered. I don't know who owns it, but it came out of no where. I don't recall ever seeing it in a TCF game manual. Maybe it will be shown off at the CGE?

Fallguy - A prototype for the Colecovision exists, so maybe there's one for the 2600 too? I know it was planned, but I don't know how far it got.

Meltdown - This game was advertised in magazines with a full production label and everything (the ads say it was already released). There's even a small screeshot which may or may not be a mock-up (it's hard to say). I think there's a fully finished prototype somewhere.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't Sirius, as it was based on a movie property. No one remembers it, but I THINK it was a Burt Reynolds movie and/or the lead actor played a stock car driver (I don't think it's both, because that would be Stroker Ace).

Ah, according to IMDB (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0084690) it's Kenny Rogers as a racer. Damn, I can be so trivial...

I think it is highly ironic that these two movies are both included in this mystery, since they were the two movies playing at the local drive-in's Tuesday Double Feature night the first time I ever went to a drive-in. I think I was 6 or 7 and hid out under bags of fake groceies in the trunk of my family's Chevette (we were pretty cheap back then). Aah, memories...

Both Meltdown and Fall Guy were shown at CES (probably 1983). Here are their descriptions from my book ABC To The VCS:

In Meltdown (Fox), you must cool down the radioactive atoms in order to avoid the dreaded meltdown. In this game the screen displays sixteen atoms in a 4x4 grid. You control both a horizontally moving cursor (X) at the top of the screen and a vertically moving cursor (Y) at the right border of the screen. The object of the game is to cool down radioactive atoms is they go wild. If you allow them to be wild for too long, meltdown will occur. You can cool down a radioactive atom by placing your X cursor over the vertical row in which the wild atom appears and the Y cursor alongside the atom's horizontal row. When this is accomplished, press the red controller button and the atom will begin to cool down.

Unfortunately, no sooner can you bring one atom under control then a second atom will begin to turn radioactive. You must quickly change the coordinates of your X and Y cursors in order to cool down the second atom. Eventually a number of atoms will turn radioactive and you must jump from atom to atom in an effort to cool all of them down as much as possible in order to avoid a meltdown, which will occur if you stay away from a radioactive atom for too long a time. The game, in a manner of speaking, is similar to Dishaster
****************************************
In The Fall Guy (Fox), you must get to the top of the skyscraper to obtain an important suitcase. As in Crazy Climber you must avoid flying creatures and falling objects as both will knock you off your feet and send you to the ground where you'll lose a turn.

Actually Six Pack was a Kenny Rogers movie (yes the singer with the resturant's) he was the stock car driver and they were a bunch of kids on his pit crew (i don't remember why, it's been a long time since I've seen this movie)

BTW I hope nobody minds me going through the archives ressurecting old topics. I just want to make sure I don't start new ones when the topic has already been discussed.

According to the DP guide:

Programmed by Mark Klein.  Only one proto is known to exist.

I assumed this meant that it had been discovered.

Whoa!

I recently received the manual for Fantastic Voyage from an eBay auction and I found another unreleased/unmade game on the back: The Entity! The tag line reads: What you can't see CAN hurt you!

Anyone know about this one?

They were gonna make a movie based on "The Entity?" Holy crap. Well, it *was* a 20th Century Fox film and the movie's tag line is correct, "What you can't see *can* hurt you."

However, here's a brief description of the film. You tell me if this would've made a good game:

Another "true story" of dubious authenticity, The Entity concerns a libidinous invisible presence. The unseen entity repeatedly rapes poor Barbara Hershey, who can't get anyone to believe her stories of sexual assault. Frankly, she doesn't believe them herself until she undergoes therapy conducted by experts in both psychology and the supernatural. The Entity, a great, hairy blob, is tricked into materializing, an act of revelation that proves to be its downfall. Adapted by Frank de Felitta from his own novel, The Entity might have been one of the classic horror films of the 1980s had it not succumbed to the temptations of sensationalism. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

I'm here to tell you that the "rape" scenes are *very* graphic. The folks at Fox must've been out of their minds to pitch this as a game.

Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea is another one that's probably out there. There's a catalog that has artwork and a (mock) screen shot for it.

It was never shown at CES, though. As far as I know, the only 20th Century Fox games that were shown at CES, but not released, were Meltdown and the Fall Guy.

Wow! That would have made a REAL interesting game! I wonder how they would have pulled THAT one off!

Save The Whales does exist SOMEWHERE -- it was available as a game when the Gameline modem service was available for the Atari 2600. Hasn't been seen anywhere since though...

M*A*S*H II?! That's something I'd like to see. BTW, anyone ever notice how Porky's is borderline adult? Take a look at that shower scene and you'll know what I mean.

Are you sure of this? I believed this 100% up until recently and I could swear that I even saw a gameliner magazine that talks about the game. However I haven't been able to verify this. Can anyone out there prove that this was available on the gameline service?

Makes sense to me. Lots of games had name changes right up till the end. I guess the only way to know for sure is to find Bill Aspromonte and ask.

Crash Dive. I traded that piece of **** for a sealed Dark Chambers and I don't care. It may have been rarer, but I hate that game so much it was worth getting rid of.
