I have noticed some posts saying they cant find any games at all, not even commons. Maybe we are lucky on the West Coast as more games must have been released out here.

Anyways, here is today's common bin scroungings for me:

Atari:
video chess (text)
flag capture (text)
street racer (text)
bowling (blue text)
football (picture)
(4) no label Parker Brothers (maybe get lucky when I test them)

Intellivision:
Demon Attack
Advanced D&D
Poker (white label)
Frog Bog
Utopia
Lock n' Chase

Total $5.36

They're all dups to me but who passes up that price?

I'm in North Carolina and i have got tones of atari carts in the wild. In the past two months i have gotten around 52 carts in the wild. And i have only been back in to atari for 3 months now. But from what i have read some states suck like in the deep south places like ARK and MISS. Plus some north eastern states like RI.

My local shop here in Salt Lake got some new games in. Picked up a bunch of commons and uncommons for .49 and .99 each. They also had a few scarce titles, but they really overcharge for them ($5 and $10, which is too much IMO).

But spring is coming, which means spring cleaning. So I'm hoping to do good at yard sales in the next few weeks!

Massachusetts is completely dry. It's almost as if some black hole manifested itself over here and swallowed up all available Atari carts and products.

New Hampshire is a little better. Found some rare stuff at Funcoland and various pawn shops. Nothing too rare, but it was good to find some product.

There's loads of "areas" outside of the US where people still find plenty of games in the wild!

Cheers,

Unfortunately not in my part of Switzerland.
I find only Videopac/odyssey carts when I'm in real luck, but I never seen a piece of Atari or Coleco carts in the wild, never

Hi Zanza,

I was just kidding around a bit with this posting because it more or less assumed we are all in US areas. I like to stress that ours is very much a global hobby. And so is this board.

Cheers,

Marco

PS: don't you just hate the "will ship to USA only" auctions on Ebay?

You are sooooo right, Arkansas is a dumping ground for nothing. I found a total of maybe 30 games in the past year and a half. I keep finding games that I have over and over but not in any sizable quantities or anything. Miss. Sucks just as hard. Oh yeah and go ahead and throw in Oklahoma, I counldn't find squat there either.

It always helps to pick up those duplicate carts.. you never know when they could come in handy. We could all probably expand our collections a fair amount if we were willing to trade carts with each other. I'm always looking for people to trade carts with.

Cheers,

KA

The reason why it's getting dry all over is that there are probably too many of us collectors out there and too little wild carts, the internet has made what was an isolated hobby into a big network of trading and scavenging and Ebay sellers. This has both good and bad consequences I'm beginning to think, but there are still millions of games out there, so there's plenty for everyone.

Massachusetts is definately dry. You rarely find games and, when you do, they are always overpriced.

Well, it's not really dry here, I find plenty of carts, just not anything good (AKA-nothing over a 2).

I haven't found much at all in the wild, save for a mild score a few months ago - I got a VCS with 20 carts for a buck at a thrift. Also, at the same time, I found a VIC-20 and carts there too for a buck. All common carts for the Atari, but I don't know anything about VIC-20 carts.

Atari stuff here in South Florida is pretty dry but I did find a new store that opened oup recently and has a lot of Nintendo stuff. I was never into Nintendo but I did have a friend who owned one and got to play some of the games.

I have to get all my Atari items through Ebay otherwise I would have nothing at all

Pasadena sux!!!

went there today and couldnt even find a labeless cart for anything. Must be some avid collectors in that town, they should switch to collecting rose bowl stuff.
