When commercial towing vehicle Nostromo, heading back to Earth, intercepts an SoS signal from a nearby planet, the crew are under obligation to investigate. After a bad landing on the planet, some crew members leave the ship to explore the area. At the same time as they discover a hive colony of some unknown creature, the ship's computer deciphers the message to be a warning, not a call for help. When one of the eggs is disturbed, the crew do not know the danger they are in until it is too late....

Hints and Tips

The Manual said:

As always, you really should read the manual.

What's that? You don't have the manual? Well, AtariAge happens to have a typed version of it online for your reading pleasure. In case you're too lazy to click that link, here's the hints, straight from the manual:

- A good playing strategy is to crush all of the Eggs in one area at a time, keeping within easy readh of a Pulsar.  The best way to destroy Aliens is to sit near a Pulsar until the Aliens are almost upon you.  Then grab that Pulsar and go get 'em !

- Use the Hyperwarp Passage to ditch Aliens.  Many times they won't follow you in.

- If you're having trouble with the Bonus Rounds, try going between the Alien pairs rather than around them.

sku_u said:

If you get cornered, you can use your pulsar to force the monsters away temporarily, but use it sparingly as it does run out.

FireTiger said:

The flamethrower is for a long distance oncomming alien in the left/right directions, you can get it to turn around then run off up or down.

Omegamatrix said:

I noticed you can't pick up a power pellet while you are firing your flame thrower. I died a couple of times like that. You can however fire your flame thrower while running from an alien, and have them turn away. You don't have to be facing them!

durden26 said:

On the early stages, it's real easy to eat the aliens because they move so slow. However, each time you eat them, they move much faster. The red one seems to have some idea where you are, and the green one is oblivious. The yellow one will sometimes go straight after you, but most of the time, he will try to set up a trap. Use the flamethrower to put him off. If an alien is in the general area, the will alter their path. What I can't seem to figure out is the bonus stage. I know there's a pattern, but I can never recognize them. Sometimes I go around, sometimes I go in between, but 9 times out of 10 I don't make it. I've also noticed that in later rounds, not only do the aliens move faster, but so do you.

Good luck everyone!

OK, here's the gameplay style: You run around trying to clear a maze of eggs (or dots as they appear) while dodging the alien monsters. If they catch you you're a goner. You can run off one side of the maze and reappear on the other, and you can get a few power-ups to turn the tables briefly.

In space, nobody can hear you yell 'PAC-MAN RIPOFF!' but in your living room, it's different.

Anyway, here's my first score.

Tip: flamethrowers seem to only work well left/right not up/down.

Got a few games in last night and this was the best so far.
Someone tell me if I'm doing something wrong, but the flamethrower seems totally useless to me. Didn't save me once.

I thought the flame thrower was only good for giving the aliens a closeup of you before you die... Now that I know what it's meant to do it works much better. :P

I noticed you can't pick up a power pellet while you are firing your flame thrower. I died a couple of times like that. You can however fire your flame thrower while running from an alien, and have them turn away. You don't have to be facing them!

44839. Here's some stuff I've noticed. On the early stages, it's real easy to eat the aliens because they move so slow. However, each time you eat them, they move much faster.
