I'm going to be posting that file to the website this weekend. It's the design specs for the game.

BTW, I think one of these versions actually worked with paddles.  I think that's why the programmer said it had Party Mix code in it.

He must have borrowed it then as a basis; Denis Caswell wrote Party Mix and told me he had nothing to do with Sweat before Starpath merged into Epyx.

I haven't had a chance to try this one out, but I noticed it's for the joystick.  Wouldn't this one have been much better suited to a keypad and overlay?  I love seeing these games surface.  Many thanks to Ken for his diligent work.

If it was programmed by David Crane while at Atari, that would have been years before the keypad was invented.

You're probably thinking of the Star Raiders keypad. The regular keyboard controllers were released in 1978.

Oddly, I just had the idea to program a Boggle-style game on a RAM-expanded 2600, but couldn't figure out where to find a good word list.  I know some good techniques for word-list compression, but don't know a good source of lists.

check out www.scrabble.com - i know that they have a word generator as well, and you can never go wrong with the official scrabble dictionary - most of those words would apply to boggle... :)

Getting an 85,000-word dictionary in a 32K cart might be a bit hard, though.

Be specific with your needs, I may be able to help and would willingly do so if I can.

PS- if you need any "help" going through that stuff, let me know! :D

Actually, I found a word list that might be workable for a 32K cart. I've also been thinking about implementation and figure that it might be possible to make the game work with a computer "opponent" using one of Richard H's product's (either the Atarivox or his standalone EEPROM) without using any extra RAM.
