Hi all!

I have a question. There're two versions of Centipede known to me: the first one was released by Atari in 1981, the second one year later. They're almost identical, probably the only difference is AI.

1981 version uses very aggressive strategy with random place where centipedes start their "kamikaze" attack :) and it's almost unplayable in higher levels. On the other hand, 1982 version uses rather stupid strategy with still the same place of "kamikaze" attack. Check attachment to compare both versions.

I think it's very important to know which version players should use in this contest.

The 1981 version is a proto, the only official release is the 1982 cart.

Aha. Thank you for info!

I vote for 1982 version then. Especially when I know it's not a problem for me to reach 1.000.000 points. :) :)

Not playing any prototypes Except for Fandel who claims to be able to get 1,000,000 - he needs to play the hard one :)

1982 version only please!

Ooooops. I'm so sorry guys! I've mixed up something in my head! 1982 version is harder to play, not 1981 one!

So this contest will be real challange because 1982 version in for Gods only. And I'm not a God, I'm just Master as you can see below. It's screenshot from 1981 proto version, approximately after 90 minutes of playing.

You can use a CV Super Action Controller if it works :D

Go for it - I found the Trackball not to be as fun with this one :(

A little better, but this version just doesn't do it for me.
