I am not sure where to start with learning to program for the Atari 2600 and could anyone make some suggestions? What is the easiest tool/tools to start with? Is there a how to guide that will take you through all the steps of creating a basic game ,with a suggested tool/tools, and explain what everything does? I have had some programming expierence which is very limited. Visual Basic and really basic C++. Any information would be much appreciated.

First thing I'd suggest is learning to read

Seriously, have you had a look at the very first topic in this forum?

Greetings,

The EASIEST tool is undoubtedly batari Basic, which allows you to write Atari 2600 games in Basic.
