To get an instant replay, you must score 100*level in a single play. This is guaranteed to happen if you get a 4-deep combination or if you get a total of six or more triples in one combination. Six triples at once score 100*level; 5+1 score 80+20; 4+2 score 60+50; 4+1+1 score 60+20+30. Some cominations totalling five triples will also work: 2+3 score 25+80; 2+2+1 score 25+50+30; 1+4 score 10+120. You can even do it with four triples: 1+1+2 score 10+20+75; 1+1+1+1 score 10+20+30+40)

Additionally, a "bombergem" play which causes a chain reaction will often net more than 100*level (eight or more gems plus a single chain reaction, or five and a double), and a bombergem "splat" play (dropping a bombergem in an empty column) is guaranteed to net at least 300*level.

Record-setting plays will not be counted unless they meet the 100*level minimum requirement.

Two slight tweaks:

-1- If the game is paused at the "Great Play/Instant Replay" screen, pushing fire will cause the screen to exit after 1/2 second instead of two seconds.

-2- At the boot screen, pushing up or down will immediately lock the screen in PAL/NTSC mode as selected (the game itself still won't start in the specified mode until the control is released).

Both of these tweaks avoid moving any Stratogems code, so no branches that weren't page-crossings before should turn into page crossings and break anything.

That last version is PAL only.

Thanks. GRR... try this one [file naming convention: SPxxxxxx=PAL only; SNxxxxxx=NTSC only; SFxxxxxx=combined--how have I managed to upload the wrong things twice? :(]
