I was terrible at this one in the arcade...and when pp2 came out...I would always go with the oval...got pretty good at that one. No oval on this version :x

Well, in the waning hours, I manage to get another high score. (And mind you, I actually wrote an FAQ for this version of Pole Position. Check it out at GameFAQs.)

One last tip: When taking the hairpin curve (the fourth turn) you can just quickly shift into low gear for a second just long enough to slow down a little, then shift back to high gear and you'll be able to negate the curve without losing too much time.

I am thinking this could be it. Perfect may be out of reach without a real joystick for me. I guess I can accept that. Maybe a few more games tonight to find out. I may have to buy a stelladaptor soon. :)
