No myth.

The current owner doesn't dump it yet, that's all.

It's a Pink Panther situation.

I've heard that bitrot is more previlant in carts owned by people of the Greed Creed.

Hmm... what does he want for it? Am I naive in assuming that the ones who would/could pay for it are all in this forum anyway? Is he hoping that some rich folks take up the hobby sometime in the future?

Why not just list it and try and get Kotaku and Joystiq to pick up on the story. You have to assume if there is anybody hidden out there who might pay more than us, that would find 'em.

Please do not bother the person that found GLCB....all I can say right now is that there will be more information to follow.

So I read this whole thread and I know I'm super late to the party. I noticed this page was updated some time post 2009:

http://www.atariprot...harliebrown.htm
http://www.atariprot...brown/41884.htm

If you look on Archive.org, all the pics on this page look like crap compared to the ones on there now. The page mentioned the cart was dumped by a friend of the original programmer.

With this in mind, does this confirm two copies of the cart (or were the two copies already known and I'm just bad at reading comprehension)?

The description of the cart certainly sounds very similar.

I noticed there were two or three .bins posted, but I didn't load them up because I got a vibe they were a joke and I'm currently at work w/ no emulators available.

If those .bins were real, whose copy were they from?

While I would not be surprised if there are more copies or even versions in the hands of collectors that are keeping quiet, there is only one publicly known copy (the one pictured on AtariProtos which is the same as the one this thread is about). The cartridge is owned by Wonder007 and the screenshots were updated recently with ones taken by an emulator. I never really understood the 'cart dumped by a friend of the programmer rumor' but I'm assuming he meant that this particular copy was made for a friend of the programmer.

You're correct, they are all joke ROMs.

So Wonder actually got his hands on it? Three years on does anyone (Wonder included) know what exactly is going to be happening with it? ;)

The original pictures came from an interview that the original owner of the proto did with 2600 Connection years and year ago. Later I was given the actual rom by the new owner of the proto and updated my pictures.

Correct. Or so I was told (can't remember who told me that though, it's been too long). I guess I should fix that wording to make it more clear.

No was not aware of that so thank you indeed for that information. I never go on marketplace so at risk of looking a complete dunce did Wonder actually release Bouncing Baby Bunnies on cart as well? ;)

So, just to be sure I'm not misunderstanding, Wonder007 gave you a copy of the rom, and from the only known copy?

I have a copy of the rom from the only known copy. Yes that's correct.
