Everyone,

A while back I acquired some items from an ex-Atari employee. In the lot were 2 Atari 800's. One had a funky label on the front, but other than that they just appeared to be standard 800's. However, today I noticed while digging through my attic that they have an Atari marking on the bottom of the case, numbering each unit. I've attached pics.

I'm curious if anyone has ever seen these before and know anything more about them than the fact they came out of Atari HQ's? Thanks for the help.

Wondering, have you plugged either of these up yet to see if they do anything different from the normal 800s?
I wonder if the internals are different.

Looks like asset marks to me.

I have with one of 'em Clint and didn't notice anything different. One did have a 128k RAM card in it, switchable. Can't remember the brand, but can double check if there's interest here....

I agree with Mitch... they look like Asset Tags... Perhaps before the days of nearly non-removable stickers, they actually branded the equipment with tag numbers to track them.

I've seen it before on older gear...

Thanks for the help guys. I kinda figured that was all there was to it, but wanted to make sure.
