Holy Sh*t! I just downloaded this game! What the h*ll is going on?! No coins, no block breaking, no Goomba smashing, what's the deal? Was the president of Nintendo drunk?! Why didn't I hear about this game when it was released? Is it a hack, a recent job, or what? Help King out here, this is disturbing!

Yes, you start with 3, and can collect more as you go along. In this SMW, you have to pick up and throw boxes at enemies.

Pirated? So, was it a foreign hack or something? BTW, there's SMW for NES? I must investigate.

Yeah...that SMW for the Genny is a Hong Kong hack job I believe. So you haven't heard about it because Nintendo never licensed it! In fact...I heard Nintendo was pretty pissed off about this when it came out.

I say forget about it and run SMW on ZSNES...hehe..

So, there any cart scans of this? Since I'm guessing it came out around 1991/2/3, it probably didn't just show up on the internet.

ALSO... I downloaded SMW for the NES from EdgeEmu, but it says it cannot recognize file (or something like that) when I run it. Can anyone send me a working ROM of NES SMW? I want to try this out.

The majority of those "hong-kong connection" games pretty much blow the big one. Try playing one for any amount of time and you'll see. As far as the roms I do have them at home but I'm not sure where you can get them on the web... But I'm telling you... they pretty much suck.

Here's a links to some samples, like Somari...

Check out Emuchina for Super Mario World, NES. It's a pretty decent game, as far as a Hong Kong original gets.

I can't download that Mario ROM from the first link. It's not there.

I got the other two, though. They're damn cool. I like Somari. I'll have to play it some more after work.

It would be a lot better if the speed were more consistent... Mario runs AMAZINGLY fast, and then slows down to a crawl when he jumps, which makes it almost impossible to time jumps. Aside from that, the graphics and everything else are actually surprisingly decent.
