The remnants of what was once Atari Corp. (Atari home division, makers of the Lynx and Jaguar) are owned by Infogrames.

Atari Games Corps. (Atari arcade division, makers of Gauntlet, Area 51, Primal Rage, etc.) was owned by Midway. Atari Games Corp. was briefly changed to Midway Games West until Midway shut down all arcade divisions and went console only. All assets of Atari Games Corp., including licenses and games, are still owned by Midway.

Atari is owned by a French company now. This video should be of service to you.

Epic thread ressurection - when I reattempt to build my time machine, I'll surely be sure to make sure that the primary fuel source is pure internets.

Wow, how the heck did they find THIS old thing to 'rise from your grave'? :D

On a side note, I've seen evidence that Atari and Midway are working with each other -- licencing games that the other company has the right to. Midway is really struggling these days, more so then Atari is. I'd like to see Atari buy out Midway or at least the old arcade division so that a company called 'Atari' can have ALL the rights to ALL the old games an systems under one roof again, home and arcade alike. I know it's not the same thing as it used to be, but really, all the old vets of the industry have the 'same name, different look' thing going on, including EA and Activision.
