Anyone feel the same way about controls?

Is it me? (probably) or does it feel like some games have too much controls?

Like, using your left analog control to look up and down, the D-pad to move up/dwn/lft/right and then the right analog pad to aim your weapon and THEN on top of those 3, the firing button X or O ?!?

I don't know about you, but I only have 2 hands here! Even if I could place 1 finger on each control, I couldn't control it.

Are games becoming to so advanced that the controller just doesn't cut it anymore?

Any opinions?

i do indeed agree. the controlls in halo do suck.

The reason I think Ape Escape is so cool is because of how it utilizes the controls. It's the only game I've played where pushing down on the analog sticks does something.

yea some controls are good,while others are bad.

I generally like having a lot of controls. Most games can be played without learning every button and control. But as you master the basic controls, you can start to use other features and get better. It gives games more depth and I think it adds to the fun.

It's usually worth spending the time to look at and try the different controller configs in a game. In most games, I do not use the default setting.

I think the Halo controls are fine, but I don't use the default controller setting. I think part of the problem is that with the X-Box controller, all the buttons are the same shape, so you can't tell by feel which button you are hitting.

i get too confused having 2 sticks to control with.

It all depends on the game. I get on fine with Luigis Mansion despite it using every button on the (albeit well layed out) GC pad.
But Its just as easy to be confusing - I guess, game designers just have to think a bit about the ergonomics of their control system (yes Resident Evil, I mean YOU! ).
And, of course, just because a system has a load of keys, doesn't mean a game HAS to use 'em - take Super Monkey Ball for example, I think that just uses the one stick.
Fond though I am of the one-button Atari stick, I think that the possibilities that offers for gameplay have been just about exhausted.

On Resident Evil I use the control scheme where the right trigger makes you go forward. I got used to it and am pretty happy with it. I just wish the weapon aiming was more analog.
