I'd like to find out if Homebrew is even possible on it, I'm sure Mattell only used a basic software protection, who'd wanna pirate games for it anyways? lol. I can't find it at rediculously cut prices, where is everybody finding it?

I'd like to know to, if I could buy the whole set for $20 I'd sure pick it up, I don't care if it is a POS, this is right up my alley :P But every store I've been to still has the thing for it's original $70 price tag.

Well, maybe. Of course, that probably depends on the stores too. But still, the point is, every option in about a hundred mile radious of where I live still has the thing sitting around at $60+ and $20+ for the games

Heh, for those waiting on it to hit the bargain bin, it's going to be soon...

http://www.etoys.com...17/INstock/Y/D/

Down to $39.99. Target seems to be clearing out the "booster" packs for $1 a pack too BTW.

Well, I came into work yesterday morning to find a new in box Hyperscan sitting on my desk. A friend/coworker of mine apparently saw them at some store (Ross? Doesn't ring a bell with me) for $10, so he picked one up for me. Apparently I had mentioned some of the threads here in conversation, thus planting the seed. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but I'm sure that will come soon enough.

Tuesday Morning, A High end Liquidator has them for $9.99 , Controllers for $2.99 Booster packs for $.99 and Game Packs for $1.99
They only had 3 Ben 10 Games and 2 Boosters, I bought all the boosters got 4 I needed out of the 12 and now need 8 more for a 'complete' ben 10 Card set.

A local Wal-Mart Clearenced the Ben 10 Booster out at $0.99 and I snagged 24 Booster packs then.

How are the controllers for the Hyperscan? I've seen them for $2.99 and was thinking of picking up a couple to use for future hacks.

At that price, hacking potential has to be a consideration. I may have to visit these stores.

Holy balls! I just came here to read the review for a good laugh, and I find people posting in the thread still! hatespawn, how do you actually go about editing those files? Can you change them and just re-burn the edited game onto a CD or what?

The price here is still 5.99, but I can wait longer. As far as build, they're not that bad. The two trigger buttons in back are a bit akward, but you can get the hang of it. They're about as heavy as a PS1 controller, so they're on the light side. My joystick gets stuck to the left sometimes, does anyone else have that happen? I think it's because of the kind of plastic they used.

I'm still waiting for someone to release homebrews for it. I don't have the know-how to back-engineer it, but hopefully there'll be a BASIC out for it one day and games will be a tad easier for it to make at home. And they Hyperscan has a place in history, as one of Mattel's flukes.

I picked a system up the past weekend. The game loading and use of RFID sucks. I was just trying to start play and I had to choose the character by the card. This system is so poorly designed to use that I know this had to be made by Marketers. After every fight, you have to pull out the card to select your fighters. At the end of the match, I am suppose to pull out a card to get my special ability. They must have thought it was a good idea to force players to choose characters and get abilities by paying more for it using a card. And who green lighted that many systems? At $9.99, I still consider returning it. It is that annoying to use. They put more thought into the box design than the actual game play. It is no wonder it is in the clearance store.

The joystick has lots of buttons and has connector that looks like a PS2 keyboard connector. There are 4 shoulder buttons, 4 main buttons, and 2 for start and select. It is hard to tell if the joystick is analog or digital. I am going to crack it open when I get home this evening.

One of mine has a broken CD reader, so I get to upgrade it. It's been a while since I've had a chance to mess around with it, but still looking forward to it.

When you do take it apart, 5200, keep in mind there are a LOT of screws holding it together.

I know there are guys out there working on hacking it, but it's been a while since I checked in.

Yea, we are getting closer! the isos for spiderman and xmen are now online. We are getting closer to dumping the firmware and the contents of the cards, also, someone knows the guys that designed the spg 290 chip and he is trying to get info from them

EDIT: I went to tuesday morning a week or two ago, and they had like 30 systems. I got 6. I really went to get games and cards though, but they had none.
