Anyone have this game yet and can they give their opinion?
It looks like something maybe my girlfriend would get into.
I was considering picking it up so it looks more like I got a Wii for "us" and opposed to "me"
Sneaky hu?

How is it that women control us so much??? The other night the wife and I are in bed and she suddenly says "I'm cold". Next thing I know I'm out of bed and shutting the window. I stopped and looked around and went "Wait a minute... I wasn't cold. What the hell am I closing the window for??"

Women somehow control every facet of our lives.. even gaming. I've lost more hours of gameplay on the 360 ever since I allowed her to try out Zuma and Jewel Quest. She bought the full versions of each and is now thinking about Bejeweled 2. Sigh.....

Anyway, I haven't tried Elebits but it is due to arrive soon at my house from Gamefly.

Give in to the Pop-Cap madness d00d. She'll move on to Diner Dash soon enough, trust me. Then Alchemy. Then Diner Dash 2. Then Bejeweled 3 (if they get around to making one and they no doubt will). Hey at least we can say they're gamers, which sure as hell beats being with a NON-gamer lady in your life! :D

ill probally be grabbing Elebits after i get Far Cry (screw the reviews) ,and Excitetruck

As far as women ,and games...mine is the same way. Ill some times have a hard time getting to play Wii ,or 360 because she'll be either playing UNO, Zuma, LOZ TP, Sonic The Hedgehog, Simpsons Hit n Run , Wii SPorts or the Sims 2.

Then when i get the system back i wanna play a game by myself ,and she'll constantly go "hunny you play some bowling?" "hunny lets play some mario kart" "hunny lets play some Halo" its like damn it i just wanna play some Zelda jeez.

BTW do you guys playing anything with your women ,and if so what they get you into playing.

with us its
Halo 2
Mario Kart DD
Wii Sports (Bowling)
Pac Man VS
Mario Bros
Super Mario Bros

I picked this up the other night. So far...the tutorials were rather drab and seemed really really drawn out. They almost work like separate missions rather than giving it all to you at once.

Example, In Katamari Damacy you do a training level, where you learn how to roll left, right, back, etc...and over stuff and everything. But you do it all in one nice tidy little space.

In Elebits, you're first told how something works, and then either told to do it yourself, or shown how it works. Then, you go another what seems like a small level load and the next item is talked about.

I prefer Namco's method as it gets you doing it all at once and really learning how it all works together. But with Elebits they break it up so much that you feel like some of the missions won't be commensurate of all you have learned, but just focus on that one thing you just learned. Which isn't the case.

In addition, starting at around Mission 4 and 5, you are shown more demos in tutorial mode for new gameplay elements that get added at that time.

However, as a game it is very addicitive! Each mission takes place in its own area. Could be a room, a couple of rooms to be explored, etc. And you always start at level 1 on picking up stuff. But you quickly build yourself up so that when you could only be picking up apples out of basket, you can now fling the entire entertainment center that the basket was sitting in. There are also some powerups scattered in the missions to help you with things. Some cause the Elebits to start spinning dazed and confused like, which makes it much easier to capture them. And some will turn your capture ray into a homing laser able to pick up lots of Elebits at once without having to aim directly at them all the time.

The graphics are really cute in a more detailed than katamary way, but same color styling. Nothing is difficult to tell what it is or how to use it. The elebits themselves are also varied and depending on the color will either help you in leveling up your capture ray during the mission, or build up your wattage requirement to clear the level. One thing I do like about the game is that once you clear a level, you can still continue to play until time runs out. In addition there are secrets within the missions to unlock other bonuses in the gameplay. As an example there is one bonus you unlock where you can replay the levels without a time limit provided you find all of a certain elebit type in the mission when you play it.

The game also features an editor where you can edit the missions and somehow, (I haven't looked up how to do this yet...), can send them to your friends on your Wii list and exchange them. The game also features the usual simultaneous multiplayer with up to 4 at once zapping elebits.

To me the shear fun of ripping cabinet drawers out of in the kitchen or tossing a piano around in the living room is all tremdous fun?!

is there any actual baddies in the game ,or just throwing things around to uncover the elebits. It'd be something if there were baddie's that try to eat your elebits before you catch them or something.

I just got this the other day. We picked it up while letting my son birthday shop. My wife really likes the game. I played it all last night and was really getting into it. The game grades you according to how well you did the level so I'm going thru my earlier ones and trying to get a better grade. Currently on level 6.

I think I saw something in the manual about bosses so I think aside from collecting elebits you do go up against bosses.

Anyways a fun little game and really shows some of the capabilities of the wii remote.

My girlfriend and I picked this up last week and we really like it. The control is really nice, I feel like a Ghostbuster and a Jedi at the same time!

I forgot to mention that in alot of ways it reminds me of a dreamcast game called Toy Commander and also Toy Story 2 (PS1 version is actually better than the DC version).

In that it takes place in your house.

My favorite was the Xmas version of Toy Commander where you have to find presents and deliver them under the tree. Playing that game should be a yearly tradition for all.

Back on the topic, my girlfriend never got into Elebits at all. She's too busy raising virtual dogs on the DS. I however think it's one of the best games available for the Wii.

Of course! :D

Anyway, I just finished playing Elebits over at the college. It's just the kind of game the Wii needs... a title that's built around the system's controller and uses it effectively. It's fun to use the Wiimote to turn objects, whether they be doorknobs or appliances you accidentally knocked over in your mad hunt for those pesky Elebits. I can almost see why people are so eager to compare it to Katamari Damacy, as the look is similar and the gameplay has the same cumulative effect... the more Ellies you collect, the more powerful your beam becomes and the more stuff you can lift. Still, it's distinct enough that it will never be confused as a Katamari clone.

i really liked this game. i mean, would i rather play this or red steel, red steel.. but its still a great game. only thing that is bad is the voice acting and ooooo is it bad. other than that , its a pretty intuitive romp. i agree the tutorians were pretty painful, but other than that the levels are pretty cool.. and its mighty fun destroying your house. :)

I also didn't care much for the stealth like missions...or those where I couldn't break objects...just seem to be a huge counter to what the game is wanting you to ultimately do...which is to move, break, turn on, or insert any object in the way to find elebits. The stealth like missions just seem to detract too much from the exploration factor that this game is really all about. The puzzle theme park is about the most awesome..as there are tons of secrets to discover on that level alone?!

havent gotten to stealth.. i at first was turned off by the "DONT BREAK STUFF" missions. but honestly, all you have to do is make sure you dont fling the object 90 mph against the wall.. most of the time, im just shoving things to the side anyway.

i do have to say .. one thing i really liked is that not all objects you just bit a button to turn on and elebits come out. sometimes like the toaster, you have to put the bread int eh toaster in order to turn it on.. pretty cool idea. oh and btw, look in the kids room, theres a nintendo wii there that you can fling across the room

Yeap...other things that took me a bit to figure out what the turkey goes into the over..but it is already in the over? You have to take it out..and then really put it in there again..at which point the oven finally starts its countdown.

Also it took me a while to figure out what needed to go into the microwave to make it work right. Finally found that stupid popcorn container. I had been flinging it out of the cabinet before without regard to what it actually was before then.

And there are some levels later on where you have to keep the sound below a certain level. These are tricky as breaking isn't an issue, but it does make a lot of noise when you do. Also some of the devices themselves can be loud when turned on.

I was dissappointed in the slow down that occurs in the much later levels though. But...throwing around entire structures almost makes up for it...hehe

I agree, this title puts the control system to great use. It's odd entertaining fun :D

More of this stuff is needed and less horribly implemented ill suited ugly games with ineffective, frustrating shoe horned in control schemes, like say Red Steel.

red steel was good.. the content may not have been the most original thing.. but shit, its one of th efirst games to make it so you dont have to move your head when you want to aim... its showing off what the wii can do, which .. honestly.. is the whole point of a launch title.. not to be the best thing in the world, but to get you ramped up for what it can do.. you have to remember the time frame these games were made in. for what it is.. its great.

Most levels have an eternity mode that you can open up. I'm guessing in that mode you don't have to worry about volume. The volume thing is not a big deal it actually teaches you better control anyways. Plus they have those anti-sound balls you can activate when you want to make alot of noise.

Funny thing is after I completed the volume level I had the BOSS level where I pretty much ended up flinging all the furniture around trying to catch those crazy things!

This game has lots of alternate modes you can play to unlock things.

Anyone try numbering the books in the parents study? I did, you get a pleasant little surprise.
