Marco
Okay, let's try to compose a top 10 of most desirable Atari 2600 items. That is, in the eyes of collectors (which most of us are anyway). In order to make this work, I've come up with a couple of simple rules: - this is for The King of Consoles only - this is a list about desirability, not value or rarity per se (though they can make something desirable) - both released and unreleased items are eligible, but no vaporware (i.e. it must be 99% certain to exist) - only specific individual items are eligible (not groups like "unreleased prototypes") - hardware, software, paperware, memorabilia are all eligible - items from all over the world (PAL, Secam, NTSC) are welcomed into the list Let's have contributions and a debate for a couple of weeks, after which we can try to determine the "Most Wanted" of that moment. I'll start off with a list of items that come to my mind at this moment: 1. Boxed Air Raid (that will confirm its manufacturer and origin) 2. Personal Game Programmer (PGP-1) by Answer 3. ECPC Software Center by Romox 4. Graduate Computer CX-3000 prototype by Atari 5. Boxed Karate by Ultravision 6. Pink Panther prototype by Probe 2000 7. Boxed Atari 2700 remote control prototype system 8. POP Kiosk by Atari 9. Previewer by Imagic 0. Boxed Go Go Home Monster by Homevision Cheers, Marco Edited January 2, 2007 by Marco

Marco
It would be cool if everyone could post their complete top-10. Then we can put all lists side-by-side and see which items are included the most, thus culminating in the list of "Most Wanted" Cheers, Marco

supercat
To my mind, for something to be "collectable" it should exist in sufficient quantity that some are likely to exist in the wild. Things like "Boing" cartridges, for example, would strike me as collectable. One-of-a-kind items may be interesting, but I wouldn't consider them as "collectable" in the same way.
