Comprehensive list of flash carts?

Fri Mar 30, 2012 12:00 PM

is there such thing? For example for Atari 2600 there are Harmony and Cuttle. For the NES, I know of PowerPak, etc. I would like to see a list of all flashable game cart that can either run off memory card or via cable to computer. EPROM (multi) cart wouldn't quite be flashable and would be a pain in the butt to change if you're developing or adding new games.

I would love to see a list that has: current or discontinued; memory card type (if used); cable connection (if used); and how many games it can run ie about 99% for NES Powerpak, SNES PowerPak and SNES Everdrive has signifiantly less due to wide variety of extra chips like DSP-1 and SFX chips that aren't on flashable cart.

Maybe a separate list of consoles that do not have flashable multi carts and why such as Neo Geo (AES or MVS) because they are a major pain in the butt to design and develop and as it is, flashable multicart may never exist for Neo Geo.

Why so dusty?

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 280737289726

I've seen dusty stuff but this is bad. Are sellers so lazy they can't take just a few minutes with a dirty cloth, towel, or even sock to wipe the dust off first??

er: or blind? Like I am for posting this here instead of auction central :ponder:

How long can GBA-SP sleep?

Mon Aug 29, 2011 6:49 PM

I was helping my Mom clean her van out and I found my GBA-SP that I had misplaced back in May. It was on and it was paused in the middle of a game, not at title screen like when the switch was just turned on.

That was back in May, did my SP somehow kept waiting nonstop and without external power for 3 months? Or did some alien come in at night and turned it on? Because if it really did sleep for 3 months, that'd have to be a personal record

Gamestop screwing customer on new Deus Ex game

Not sure if modern console is OK for modern PC games since there aren't separate PC game section. If there is a suitable sub forum, please move this.

2 sources, one usually very reliable.

Holy cow!!! Gamestop has the nerve to sell them as "new" when they all have been opened and had something removed. Since it is opened, I'd think it'd be impossible to return it for full refund even if they try to show proof it is missing something. Square Enix is probably screaming at FTC to investigate Gamestop.

If you or anyone you know are planning to get this game for PC, go any store except Gamestop.

Prototype Logitech device- any info?

Tue Aug 16, 2011 12:37 PM

Logitech is known for making popular gaming keyboard and accessories but I picked up something that has me scratching my head.

I thought I'd be able to figure this mystery device by looking up the hardware ID that shows up when I plugged it in but the ID doesn't turn up anything in the top 3 internet search provider so it may have been unreleased device from a canceled project.

It runs on USB and doesn't have any port or need external power, there is only "Logitech" logo on front and "LCD Build 1 #17 03/28/05" on back. No FCC ID or anything.

When I plugged it in, I got garbage display on the 160x43 LCD display (may be taller than 43 dots but I can't open the unit to see if rest of LCD was hidden or not) There are 6 buttons on it but 5 seems to do nothing, may be driver dependent. The 6th button cycles LCD backlight off/low/high

I thought it may be related to LCD display used on G15 keyboard but keyboard driver I downloaded didn't do anything for the display.

See picture. Included is one SS of hardware ID from the device. If I can find my tiny screwdrivers, I'll open it to see what's inside.
