Black Box repairs

Hi!

Have a defective Black Box and would have loved to get it repaired. Anyone doing this? I bought it AS-IS and it was of course not working.

Let me know if you have any ideas of someone capable of fixing them. Have no idea whatsoever what's wrong with it, just not happening anything.

Have this device, I believe it's a sound digitizer of some sort, connects to joystick port and has a 5 pin DIN to to RCA jacks.

Anyone recognize it?

Damn, I have lots of different SIO2PC's too ... I never knew I bought that many :-) ... I do have two I am a bit unsure about. One is SIO in one end and Serial in the other, no box in between ... Could it be a SIO2PC inside a RS-232 plug? And one has a box with a switch (was there a switch for Pro Systems or something?)

What does a good job of copying? How to make VAPI's? I can load VAPI from APE and it starts fine on my 130XE. I tried the Duplicate option in Happy 7 Side A, didn't read the disk I want to copy correctly. I did get it started on this drive, the disk which I thought was a goner, loads fine (fineish) ... How come it doesn't recognize the format? I wanted to try to copy it with my DTI Duplicator also, but I think that drive might be flaky, as the disk won't load on that one.

Do I need more to copy a protected disk to VAPI?

Hi!

I know I asked before and got an understandable reply ... RPM on a 1050 should be 288 (345 europe)

I just now installed a Happy 1050 and drive speed was over 900 (european machine) ... Is that correct? I seem to remember 3 times faster, but I am not sure if it's good for the disks if they spin at the wrong speed. A protection method was to slow down the drive a lot for writing bad sectors.

Just need to be sure ... And how do I test if my board works properly? Any diagnostics available for Happy drives?

VBXE 2 ... What's in the package?

Anyone have pictures of all that should be in the package? I know I bought one, just haven't had time to install it yet. I can not see from the install guides and such anything that looks like what I thought was the VBXE board. I see pictures saying on the print board VBXE, which mine does not.

Anybody make a movie of how to install it?
