sega menacer trouble shooting

I recently received the menacer cart (thanks Yoshi648) and I am trying to get the gun/sensor to work with it.

I have the sensor plugged into the second port but I am getting no response from it (no cursor, no response to any buttons). The gun has a red led inside that lights up so I know the batteries are making contact and the light comes on when the trigger is pushed so the trigger is working. The sensor does nothing. Are the gun observations normal? Is the sensor supposed to light up? I did check that all 9 wires of the sensor cord are good with no breaks.

XE gun stock

For Chistmas I received an XE game system. Having no games with the XEGS, I pressed the gun into service on the 7800. That thing has terrible aiming issues and I find myself shooting to the right a couple of inched to hit stuff. Anyway, I wanted to try to help my consistency in any way I could so I decided to fit a stock to it.

The stock works good. Now has anyone found a way to adjust the aim on these or is it a drawback of the gun?

2600 non-retail box

In 1980, my sister and I opened a 6 switch 2600 for Christmas. We played it for a few weeks but then it suddenly went dead. My mom sent the unit in to Atari and they shipped us back a 4 switch unit in the box pictured below. As the first unit failed quickly, we kept the box up in the attic until I found it 2 weeks ago.

I posted this as an interesting note that replacement units were shipped in plain brown boxes, probably to save on the printing cost.

P.S. My sister still has the 4 switch and it still works fine. I also have the return packing list that was inside the box and the UPS shipping was $2.02.

wanted Atari 8 bit computer carts.

Just got an XE game system....Good Santa.

It plays Missle Command fine but I do not have any game carts for it. Any one have some commons for cheap? Am I right in that any of the Atari 8 bit computer games fit ?

Also, what are the must have games.

Found a copy of Glib locally. Excellent label but no manual or box. What are these worth? I'm wishin' but the owner knows its rare.
