In Topic: Replacement Jag Controller Buttons

Judas-Prime was kind enough to send me a set of orange buttons, orange d-pad and the black "Double Dee" Nub. I installed them in my rapid-fire Jag controller - you can see some photos below.

My quick take after a few games of Zero 5 and Raiden:
  • Double Dee Nub: Not digging the Double Dee as much as I thought I would. I think I'm expecting it to move like a 360 analog stick (since that's what it's molded after), but it just doesn't because, well duh, it's a D-Pad. I think I'm going to stick with the standard d-pad. Cool concept though.
  • Orange buttons and D-Pad: Good stuff., like the way they look and feel. Pretty much indistinguishable to the original Atari buttons aside from the color. They do seem to stiffen up the controls a bit - could be they're just ever so slightly thicker than the original Atari buttons.
Overall a cool, cheap way to mod your Jag controller, customize it and make it your own without altering the original controller. I'd pass on the Double Dee though.

That base isn't one I'm familiar with. I've seen two other stand up types. Never a rolling base. The guy on your Nintendo age link has that as well, seem to be a 19" screen? Mine is the countertop 14". Those had solid bases. There was also a molded one that was space-age looking in the Nintendo store. You can see it on old Nintendo rep videos on youtube.

I believe it is a 19" screen. Could even be 24" I'd have to go out and measure it. It's pretty big, the whole thing is taller than I am and I'm 6' 2" - it's probably around 7' tall.

This is the discussion that made me think it's pretty hard to find: http://www.nintendoa...&threadid=63745

Yeah this specific one I haven't seen too much - it's usually the smaller countertop kiosks that tend to pop up, that's why it was tough gauging a price for it. Thanks for your thoughts, it definitely is a cool piece!
