Obviously if we were to go all time, I'd bet Tetris would get a very deserving mention more times than not. This topic is more on the ones that have been developed in the past 10 years or so. We can go all platforms also. Its a genre I myself have at times ignored, but have had a hankering to collect up a few since puzzlers are IMO are timeless and for the most part quite affordable.
I see Lumines gets pretty glowing reviews. Peggle is popular to some folks. Bejeweled just barely misses out on this list (its been around for 11 years) but it has become one of the most popular of all time. I remember there being a lot of buzz about Boom Blox a few years back. So what else has been put out in the last generation or two that has captured your attention and you've really enjoyed.

Nintendo Arcade titles
Wed Oct 26, 2011 10:02 AM
Is there a particular reason to why Nintendo hasn't released arcade perfect ports of some of there most storied franchises? Mario Bros., Punch-Out, and Donkey Kong seem like obvious titles that could get them some revenue if they threw them on a disc or put them on the Virtual Console. Sure, many of these were ported to the NES, but getting the arcade version of these titles would be a special treat. Wild Gunman would be perfect for the Wii, it seems like it would be easy to do, is there some type of hang-up that I'm missing?
That, and take it for what its worth, but wikipedia says that some of the games on the Nintendo Vs. series were more of less NES ports with added difficulty, animations and graphics. Those have never been available outside of the arcades also. Those too would be cool to have available.

Remakes/Sequels that include the original classic
Thu Oct 13, 2011 5:39 AM
I was wondering if there is a list or if we could compile one of a series of games that has been updated, either by a sequel or remake, that would also include the original game that made the series what it is today? This is outside of what I'd consider a compilation disc, the main draw for most people would be the new version of the game, but they threw the original in there for a look back.
Some examples would be Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure (16-bit era) also including the original Atari port of the game. Another example would be the Doom 3 Collectors Edition for the Xbox which also included the original Doom and its sequel Doom 2. There are obviously a ton more, I was just seeing if you guys could jog my memory on some others and maybe we will find out a few we didn't know about.

Players Choice
Tue Mar 8, 2011 5:51 PM
Nintendo has had the Players Choice series since the Gameboy/SNES consoles straight up through to the Gamecube. We all know that its when the top selling titles get packaged up at a reduced price point. Is the Wii going to be exempt to this? I've adopted pretty late into the whole "owning a Wii" phenomenon, and think its a bit odd that some games that sold years ago are still being sold for $50. Maybe its still too early? Its been out for almost 5 years, I guess I don't recall how long Nintendo normally waits before its games get the Players Choice treatment. Maybe someone could enlighten me?
The Tony Hawk Series
Tue Mar 1, 2011 1:27 PM
I really enjoy the Tony Hawk games, especially the "Pro Skater" series. Never played one past THPS4, and perhaps thats for the best, or maybe I'm really missing out. I know the series has taken quite the tumble over the years, but I was curious for those of you who played the series what were the high and low points? Are there any games in the series that shouldn't be missed? Any that are particularly better for one system than the others?
Lately I've played quite a bit of the original on both the PlayStation and Dreamcast and both are pretty timeless and still enjoyable to this day. I've also liked the exclusive THPS 2x for the Xbox. My favorite and most played has to be THPS3 for the PS2. At the time it seemed so much more advanced than its PlayStation and N64 counterparts, and it was still before it gotten to its more open level design like what happened in THPS4 and to the best of my knowledge the rest of the series after that.
What do you guys think about the Tony Hawk franchise?
