OMNIMON!™
A RESIDENT MONITOR
FOR THE ATARI 400/800

by David Young and Bill Williams
for all programmers and ATARI enthusiasts

OMNIMON! is a unique product for extending the power and convenience of your ATARI Home Computer. The OMNIMON! program resides not on disk or in a cartridge, but on a PC board which installs easily and permanently into your computer. Because it makes use of the unused $C000 page of memory, it takes up no user memory! In fact, you do not know that OMNIMON! is there until you need it and then it is always immediately available. That's right! You can interrupt, examine and manipulate any program in memory or on disk. OMNIMON! gives you complete control over your computer! You will find OMNIMON! indispensible after using it for the first time.

OMNIMON! is a resident monitor which requires no user memory. It installs permanently into your computer.

OMNIMON! gives you complete control over your system. Interrupt, examin and manipulate any program in memory or on disk.

OMNIMON! is entered at any time by holding down OPTION or SELECT and pressing SYSTEM RESET. The current CPU state (program counter, registers and stack pointer) of the interrupted program is displayed. At this point all the facilities of the monitor are available.

OMNIMON! is exited by holding down START and pressing RETURN. Many times you can return to and resume running the interrupted program as if you had never left (e.g., BASIC and DOS).

OMNIMON! can aid recovery from operator errors and system glitches. It allows you to dump memory off to disk or to a printer.

OMNIMON! has flexible disk I/O independent of DOS. It supports single or double density and works in sequential or linked modes. Load a DOS file or edit raw sector data!

OMNIMON! has a complete set of debugging tools: display/alter memory or the 6502's registers, disassembler, search memory, single step, hex or character modes, etc.

OMNIMON! is a versatile tool and very user friendly!

OMNIMON! is a trademark of CDY Consulting, 421 Hanbee, Richardson, TX 75080, (214)235-2146.

Asteroids Simulator Source Code

Tue Jul 5, 2011 2:53 AM

Hiya Folks,

Here's the source to my Asteroids Simulator program. Hopefully it could be of some use to some other beginner a8 programmer such as myself. I use atasm on linux. For atasm the command I use to compile is:
atasm -v -s -xasim.atr -oasim > asim.lst asim.m65
And that produces the executable asim, and asim.atr
It will only let me attach zip files so,
unzip asim.zip
will give you asim.m65
then do the atasm command above which should give you an .atr and an atari object file. I am on to my next a8 project which will be an rpg. Original thread is here
