Famicom. Possible pirate system? take a look and let me know!

Sat Feb 11, 2012 7:35 PM

So a buddy of mine got her husband a famicom recently and strangely there were a few things about the system that screamed "i'm a knock-off" system.
The second controller does not have a microphone, and the system has audio and video ports on the back. Other than that I don't see any differences between the system and your normal everyday Nintendo brand famicom. The front label matches up and says "family computer" and "Nintendo" where as other knock-off pirate systems I've seen pictures of seem to alter the text. Also the box looks to be a match of pictures I've seen of the Nintendo Famicom box. I'm not entirely knowledgeable on the Famicom so if somebody could school me I would be very pleased! check out the links for the photos:

Help with art project

Thu Jul 21, 2011 4:11 PM

A buddy of mine has a pixel art project he has been placing some serious work into and is looking for an interesting way to display it at upcoming shows. I have an Atari ST and monitor and thought they would look great if I could get a slideshow going on the system. The two issues I have is all of his art is saved in jpeg format, and I am not very computer savvy. In fact I use the Atari ST mainly for gaming. Anybody have some ideas on how to pull this off? Remember, you may have to dumb it down for me :)
