The dates for the 2012 Midwest Gaming Classic have of course been announced - Saturday and Sunday March 24th-25th.

'84 vs '86 7800

Just thought I'd post this up, these are from my E2M room at the 2011 Midwest Gaming Classic and show the '84 vs. '86 re-release boxes for anyone who hasn't seen both.

Not shown is the in between one, which is the '84 box with the sticker slapped on it to cover the mention of the keyboard expansion. These were sold from January '86 until they sold out sometime in the spring/early summer. At which point the new stock had been created in time for the big Fall push.

Gizmo passes away

To everyone who owns an Atari Flashback 2 or 2+ game console, Gizmo our pug passed away after 14 wonderful years, but his spirit lives on in every Flashback 2 & 2+ as the "Gizmo" mmu/menu controller in every one of those consoles, you will be missed Gizmo

7800 On Fringe

For anyone who watches the show, the 7800 made an appearance on Friday night's episode. The entire episode is a flashback to '85-'86, and Peter's mother takes him to a toy store where he watches a kid is playing Joust on the 7800.

Cool to see even if there was a few inconsistencies (if it's '85 it would be too early to have it in a toy store, likewise they had a boxed Secret Quest which didn't come out until 1989).
