Riding and wrenching on dirt bikes, ATV's, snowmobiles and personal watercraft. Of course playing old 2600 games and hunting down stuff to add to my collection for as little $ as possible.
Can anyone tell me what the volts and amps are for the power supply and if it is center positive or negative at the console plug? Also does anybody have a working set of controllers they would part with for a fair price?
I am a Cubmaster at Pack 89 (my son's cub scout pack) and as a reward for participating in Scouting for Food (to help stock local food pantries) we had a pizza and video game party afterwards. I had three consoles set up, a 2600, a PS1, and a Wii. The boys were also allowed to bring any hand helds they had. The 2600 and PS1 were a hit with most of the boys and most of the parents too. The church that we meet at has a video projector to put it up on the big screen and I was going to put the Atari up on it until I got out voted in favor of the Wii. Oh well, the kids had a blast on all the systems.
I found this used for $3 the other day and thought hey why not. After all, I love Space Invaders on the 2600 and other emulated/ simulated versions I've found online for free. But I must say I was quickly bored and annoyed. It was almost too easy, repetitive, had very busy backgrounds and had what seemed like unlimited continues, but then I let my kids play it and they loved it. So all in all I guess it was a good $3 spent.
Are Gameboy Colors supposed to be back lit? I thrifted one a while back and it seems to have a very dim picture until I tilt it just right, but then it's at an uncomfortable angle for gaming. If these were not supose to be back lit can a light be added?
