About Me
I've been using my Atari 130XE for many years...
If anyone needs any help with Atari gaming or BASIC programming send me a messsage. I'm just starting (again) to play with Assembler programming using the Assembler Editor cart so I'm reading a lot of posts in the programming forum!
Having great fun playing classic & new games in the 8-bit High Score Club here on atariage. If you haven't played for a while please join in! New players welcome too (Checkout the beginners guide)
I entered my (fantastic!) new game Gwobby Strikes Back! Into the abbuc software contest 2010 [Last Place -DOH!] A much improved final version (1.2) released April 2011 details here
Previous releases were a platform game 'Gorilla Warfare', and "Gwobby's Adventure" which I am very pleased with. It's a better overall game than GW with an original theme. Download my other BASIC games (some good CarCrash? & MITE? and some bad? you decide!) from the site's "Kendallsoft Klassics Tab".
Checkout my games on the Gwobby web site
Have fun!
$£$ Wanted £$£
I would be interested in buying the following:
Magazines
Page 6 Issue 1
All A.n.a.l.o.g and Anntic magazines - preferably a bunch of the early ones (would need postage quote to the UK) :ponder:

Interests
Atari 8-bit gaming - Check out the Gwobby website http://www.gwobby.webs.com and play the latest versions of * Gwobby's Adventure * Gorilla Warfare * MITE * Car Crash * Gwobby JR * Trolley Trouble * Flikin Football * and some of my other games from years past.
Mainly gaming, still downloading tons of games to play on real hardware using APE. It's getting harder to find many classics but there are a few gems which make it fun.
Current A8 projects:
Recently finished programming the final version of my shoot'em-plat game "Gwobby Strikes Back!"
Now having another bash at assembly programming. Have dug out the assember editor cartridge and am reading peoples code!!
GSB was my first game in Turbo Basic and my first game with PMGs (well ones that move properly anyway). I finally mastered using player missile graphics thanks to the superb "Atari PMGs in BASIC" (by Philip C Seyer) available on atariarchives.org
Thinking of other threads to update the AtariFAQ e.g. 4 player games - Done, 2 player simultaneous - Done, tracker-ball, light-gun games.
Might do some reviews and top 10s for other game groups:
Tetris Games
Basic Games
etc
Was plowing through the 40~ paddle games and intending to report back to AtariAge with some sort of review. -

I've never been any good at Defender-- nor clones of the game. I know DropZone is more than a simple clone of the game (some consider it the better game), but a high score on that game coming from me is not possible. Now, if we were playing for the LOW DropZone score, than I would jump right into THAT contest!

Hopefully you'll all get over to the DropZone for round 1 of the new season, there's still a day or two left to play

I'll checkout the Pitfall II links
I found my Miner 20'49er notes... Zones 5 Station 1 bug - jump R, Zone 6 Station 1 bug- walk R jump U... didn't mention the impossible screen but I think it was 3 or 4 maybe on Zone 6. Yes, I would have played a couple of hours to get that score, we played from Station 1 Zone 1, you need a very reliable joystick button

Oh I see you're posting here but playing the game that's currently in the 5200 HSC!!!
We'll HSC Season 3 was before my atariage time, so checkout when we played Miner 2049'er last time in Season 6 Round 1
Sorry your score got Crushed
The 5th time round or so the baddies spawn right on you and you need to know what is coming up, unfortunately there are a couple of screens that don't seem possible - can't believe they didn't test this far!!! If you have the cart version of the game I seem to remember (borrowed it once) diff 10(?) had super energy (food bar style) jumps which was a cool feature (though I might have dreamt this)
The All Time Ratings and Records thread has all an atarian needs know about high scores - shows when games were played too!
Did you beat the 2nd part of Pitfall II where the baddies go much faster - I found this too tough?
Hopefully you'll all get over to the DropZone for round 1 of the new season, there's still a day or two left to play

I've found a bug in Dropzone... and not the sort you can shoot... a couple of times I've been doing quite well, but after getting killed (perhaps near the end of a level) the level is empty- the NMeye repeatedly comes on - I've got no men to rescue and either nothing or just a single cloud to shoot... maybe it thinks I was still carrying the last man, perhaps I died when he was in the tube (it is possible to do that) and it gets in a mess and bye bye go
Vote for round 2
[managed to beat the 1m again, had a strategy of going easy on the Strata bombs but this didn't leave many lives so I only just beat my score 1,089,250 yes the pressure got to me and I went to pieces
it's their haunting little cries for help that make me fly too fast
