Completed my collection of original 5200 carts!

Tue Mar 6, 2012 8:44 AM

Nearly three years after acquiring my first Atari 5200 system and games, I've completed my collection of the 69 original carts for the system!

One of the many things I love about the 5200 is that such a collection is possible, and even relatively easy to achieve. Only Bounty Bob Strikes Back is really elusive, but even it is affordable compared to the holy grails for most other systems. As it turned out, Meteorites was my last acquistion, and it arrived yesterday afternoon.

Beyond issues of rarity, however, I feel the 5200 has a really strong library. Yes, it's fairly small, but it contains great ports of many of the best games of the classic era. I've been immensely enjoying playing these games one by one in the HSC contests, and look forward to continuing to do so!

Original Xbox parts, Sega power supplies, etc.

Tue Dec 27, 2011 8:58 AM

I recently picked up a huge lot of video game consoles. Among them were 3 original Xbox's that all seem to have failed hard drives, failed mods, or broken AV connectors. I harvested some of the working parts in case anyone is interested...

(3) CPU and GPU heat sinks - $5 per set plus shipping
(2) working power supplies (the internal supply, not the power cord) - $10 each plus shipping

I was planning to e-cycle the rest of the systems, but if you're interested in sticky cases, questionable motherboards, failed hard drives, flaky DVD drives, etc. I can toss them in if you order any of the above items. :-)

Also, I have both Model 1 (1602 - for Master System, Genesis 1 and Sega CD) and Model 2 Sega (2103 - for Nomad, Game Gear, 32x, and Genesis 2) power supplies. - 7$ each

Finally, I have some SNES Super Scope receivers that I can't test due to a lack of a Super Scope, 5$ each. (plus shipping)

PacManPlus Appreciation Thread

Wed Jul 20, 2011 8:49 AM

As an admirer of the amazing work that PacManPlus has done with the 7800 system, I just wanted to start a thread where other fans of his work could express their appreciation for all he's done. This is emphatically NOT a thread to rehash and re-fight issues that have recently happened, but just for expressing thanks to a guy who's contributed so much to the 7800 and this site.

Just as a reminder, this is the man who programmed:

Pac-man Collection
Super Pac-man
Junior Pac-man
Super Circus AtariAge
Meteor Shower
CrazyBrix
Asteroids Deluxe
Space Duel
Space Invaders 7800
FailSafe
(possibly others, post them if I missed something!)

I don't know Bob, haven't ever even interacted with him, but reading through some recent threads, it's clear he hasn't been receiving the kind of recognition that he is due as one of the superstar programmers of this community. So many thanks to him, and I hope everyone who's enjoyed his work can use this area to express their own appreciation.
