In Topic: 5 Reasons 'Diablo III' Represents Gaming's Annoying Future

I got it for "free" with the 1-year subscription to WoW. Haven't got to play much of it yet, only level 15 however I think game is really fun so far. I have had issues with it at all.

I do not mind the online tether because of the type of game this is. The only real solution would be that when you made a character you would have to choose one of two options:
1 - I want this character to be playable single and multi-player (internet connection required)
2 - I will play this character single player only (no connection required)

If you select option 2 then you can never use that character online, purchase things for that character , or sell things that character acquired. I played PSO for the Dreamcast. The game was a lot of fun, but once hacking took over the game was ruined. I would rather that not happen to dungeon crawling games like this. Its not like playing multi-player is just something thrown into this game, its a huge part of the game.

Yeah always nice to see but really ENOUGH WITH THE SHMUPS ALREADY! Seriously, I would back just about any genre that wasn't another shooter on Dreamcast.
I have no doubt it will reach it's goal but I will pass on this one.

I kind of agree. It seems a lot of the newer DC games are always shmups or puzzle games. That's better than nothing, but I would personally like to see something completely different.

Another vote for Dreamcast and adding Sega Master System. It was better than the NES, but lack of 3rd party support because of Nintendo's policy at the time all but doomed it.

Master System may have been a failure in the U.S., but was very popular in other parts of the world.

Its almost hard to call the Dreamcast a failure because the system wasn't a failure, Sega was. If Sega wasn't already bleeding money so bad because of its past mistakes the Dreamcast would have been a success. Maybe not beating the PS2, but it may have beat the GC and possibly the XBOX.

That being said, it does seem like the Dreamcast is probably the most popular failed system ever. The love for the DC runs deep for many people.

Anyone know off-hand if this is still an "online-tether" type game? If so, I'll pass completely.

Yes you need to log in to your Battle.net account to use.

I played D3 this weekend and found it to be a great game so far.

What does Automatic near-time SRAM saving to SD Card (while the game runs) mean?

The SD2SNES uses SRAM to store saves temporarily. The Mega EverDrive and EverDrive64 work in a similar fashion. However with the Mega and ED64 you must reset the system for the save to be transferred from SRAM to the SD card. However it seems with the SD2SNES he must have something checking when you save something in-game and when it detects this without having to have you reset the system it transfers it to the SD card on the fly while the game is running. So no need to reset the system to transfer the temporary save from the SRAM to the SD card. The only downside of this is you must be a little more careful. This is why there are LED outputs on the top of the cart. You do NOT want to power the system down while its writing to the SD card for obvious reasons. I normally did not plan on putting LED display on the cart originally, but Ikari_01 requested I do this.
