Looking for alt OS for Atari/Mac Classic

Tue Nov 8, 2011 1:31 AM

I briefly used an OS that ran on the Atari ST, and classic Mac, but from within Mac OS.

I can not recall the name of it, but two come to mind.

MINT, which I do not believe is it.

Magic, which I believe is it, but I could be wrong.

Does anyone have any information about this?

EPMD Atari ST Album Cover

Sat Sep 3, 2011 12:54 AM

I remembered that EPMD had an album cover that featured an Atari ST in the background, but I could not remember which one. Now I remember!!!

You might have to download and zoom in the image to see it, but it's there in the upper right hand corner! An Atari ST Monitor!

Regardless if you like Hip-Hop or not, this is cool!!!

Amiga 2000 issues

Sat Aug 27, 2011 2:42 PM

I had posted this on Amiga.org, but conversation there seems to have died down in the past few days and I'm still left clueless.

What happened is that I ordered this 2000 off of Ebay:

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 180708385429

It arrived and with a few extras that were not listed so over all I was happy...

at first.

I quickly realized that the DataFlyer had came loose and had been sliding around on the inside of the 2000.

I removed this and had to straighten a few pins, but other than that nothing appeared to be damaged.

On the mother board was a MegaChip and a Kickstart switcher (I forget the official name).

I booted up the machine and to my surprise I was greeted with a Green screen.

I powered down, removed everything but the Floppy drive from the board, pressed down all the chips, etc. Same results. Green screen.

I then noticed that the battery had leaked on the board. I clipped the battery then used Alcohol and Vinegar to clean the socket and pins for the 68000 and the Agnus.

After drying things out with a dry rag and my air compressor I was able to boot to a yellow screen.

I then pressed the 68000 down a bit more and was then able to boot to the screen asking for the WB Floppy.

I then left home to update the original thread in which I was trying to trouble shoot my issues. Hurray, I was on my way!!!!

I then came home and fired up the 2000 again but was back to booting up to the green screen where I began in the first place.

I had someone send me an Agnus chip to put in place of the MegaChip, but still I get that green screen. :/

I have included two photos of the Battery Leakage area. One from before the clean up job, and one after.

I'm thinking that maybe I need to find a professional electrician within the states to work on this? I mean if it is going to go from booting to a green or yellow screen that easily, I'm thinking that there is nothing I can do to make it as stable as it should be.

Thankx for looking!

P.S. Will trade for a NTSC Amiga. ;)

Wanted: Amiga ColourMaster & NTSC A600

Mon Aug 8, 2011 4:57 PM

I am looking for a NTSC ColourMaster or
PAL VideoMaster AGA with PAL ColouMaster. Preferably a NTSC ColourMaster, but I'll take what ever I can get my hands on.

http://amiga.resourc...xp/colourmaster

I also need a NTSC A600, as my PAL A600 does not work with my NTSC SuperGen + and NTSC ChromaKey+.

Please PM and keep in mind, I will be putting these to use, unlike some collectors who horde units and let them collect dust. ;)

Thank you!
