Those who may have missed it, its been officially announced....
Coming Summer 2012 in time for Atari's 40th Anniversary, Marty Goldberg and I will release Volume 1 of our Comprehensive History of Atari (from its beginnings to July 1984) and hopefully by the end of the year 2012 Volume 2 will follow (July 1984 to March 1998)
The reason why these are coming out in 2 volumes is, there was no way, short of the book being 1,200 pages, to do the proper and just history of Atari and not some watered down rehash like whats been done over and over, this goes into areas and information, well beyond anything ever done before...
7 years of research, 1,000's of documents and hundreds of interviews are coming together to give everyone the most Comprehensive History of Atari ever told.

(Plus something else will be coming out very soon.... will let you know.)

atari2600.org resolved but no update?
Tue Oct 25, 2011 1:23 PM
Andrew and Atari legal worked out everything several weeks ago and in fact things worked out so well Atari would like Andrew to consider working with their head of Social Media and made all of the introductions...
I went to Andrew's domain today and it still has the old message about his domain going over to Atari legal which is obviously no longer the case.... I've been looking forward to Andrew putting the good old atari2600.org content back up onto the site so we can all enjoy it again....

New Atari Compatible Console & Controllers
Sat Sep 3, 2011 7:18 PM
OKay,
So, do you want a NEW console that is 2600/7800 compatible in the
2600jr Style:
http://www.pugo.org/...Atari2600jr.jpg
Or
3200 "System X" Style:
http://www.atarimuse...lvia/sylvia.JPG
With the 7800 Expansion Module moving to shipping shortly, it would be the intention to incorporate its features inside this new console, so it would all be built in - the high score keeping, pokey and so forth (just not the SIO and keyboard ports) So this would be a new super-7800 system. It just comes down to, which design would you prefer? The 3200 console is slightly bigger then the 2600jr, but around the size of the 7800 console, it is a more complex casing so the product cost would be higher due to the case, just keep that in mind.
This would NOT be an Atari product, it would not be licensed to use the Atari name, it would however be under a very well known video game company name that some may feel is equally as important as Atari. So this would be done and sold under a non-Atari name, it would be an Atari-compatible system only.
Need as much input from people as possible by Sept 15th please... thanks.
