Unfortunately, the earlier Atari systems do not work properly with the auto switch-boxes that shipped with pretty much all systems after the NES. You need either a manual switch-box or an RCA to f-jack adapter. http://www.atariage....to/connect.html

Mitch

I use my Jaguar autoswitch box with my 7800 and it works fine. I do use that F-adapter thing for my 5200 - it came with the system from the guy I bought it from. The picture is excellent with that, but when I tried it with the 7800, it didn't work at all. I'll have to try it again.

Update: I bought one of those RCA to Coaxial F adapter things at Radio Shack. The output is much cleaner than the RF unit from the Jag with the 7800. It still isn't as sharp as composite from my XEGS on the same TV, but it is a huge improvement. I don't know why it didn't work before.

I remember reading about this potential deal in Next Gen or some other mag. When the whole Coleco fallout happened, Hiroshi Yamauchi went on a long tirade in Japanese to the Coleco execs - all that the translator said was, "Mr. Yamauchi is very upset."

My top ten "worst" consoles (no particular order) of all time would go a little something like this:

8-bit NES - sure it was successful, but its bland colors, tiny sprites and cheesy sound chip (where every game sounds alike) get old real quick

I love my Atari consoles and computers. The NES, nevertheless, stands as an example of gaming excellence.

In Topic: Would you play Resident Evil on the jag?

I would be on that like ugly on the CD-i. And I don't even like Survival-Horror games. I would love to see PS1 ports on the Jaguar CD; maybe a few JRPGs. That's what the Jag REALLY needs. :) [Imagine how far people's jaws would drop if they saw Final Fantasy VII running on the Jag!]

That'd be bitchin. FF VII could totally be played on the Jag CD too - it's just prerendered backgrounds for the most part.

I think Resident Evil Could also be handled by the system. I also want the 32X ports of Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racing, and Star Wars Arcade.
