Miner 2049er NOT compatible with four-port system?

Sat Apr 14, 2012 8:58 PM

I had picked up a Miner 2049er cart a short while back... and as I've had my four-port system hooked up for a while, I popped it in to play, and it wouldn't work... so I was a bit frustrated that I purchased a cart that was dead on arrival.. I accepted the loss, and had sought out to purchase another in due time...

well, tonight, I had hooked up one of my two-port consoles, basically to test as I have a friend who is having issue with his (four-port) console, and was going to loan him my spare so he could enjoy playing 5200 without issue... so I'm explaining to a feirnd that of all my 5200 games, I only had one that was dead... and wanted to demonstrate, so I place Miner 2049er into the two-port system, press power, and... IT STARTS UP!!!
I press start and play a few games and I'm enjoying the game, and extra happy that the cart in which I thought was DOA, does in fact work!

so we already know that Mountain King, K-Razy Shoot-out, and Pitfall will not work on a two-port console... is Miner 2049er the only game that will not work on a four-port console? has anyone else experienced these issues with this game?

5200 gone :(

Wed Feb 1, 2012 4:01 PM

my truck was robbed over the weekend while at a friends home, and my entire 5200 and Vectrex collection had been stolen as well as my backpack/briefcase... also stolen was a Sega CDX console only...

I won't stand down, however, I aim to rebuild all lost games and hope to be where I was by the end of the year, if not sooner... I'm going to take a small break from the forums as it's been rather depressing... :_(

Sun Nov 27, 2011 9:03 PM

looking to trade some Atari 5200 commons for Atari 5200 commons I need!

these are the games I offer for trade:

Defender
Mario Bros.
Joust
RealSports Baseball

Ms. Pac-Man (x2)
Pole Position
Galaxian (x2)
Centipede (x4)

Qix

GAMES I SEEK!

Berzerk
Congo Bongo
Kaboom!
Keystone Kapers
Megamania
Pengo
Pitfall!

and I like to get these too, but these titles carry more value, so I would have to offer more for sure…

Gremlins
Gyruss
K-Razy Shoot-Out
Miner 2049'er
Montezuma's Revenge
Mr. Do's Castle
Rescue on Fractalus
Star Wars: The Arcade Game
Zenji

The BOLD games are the ones I'd like to get

of note, I really have not done much transactions on Atari Age, but have references on Digital Press (user: TurboGenesis) and at shmups (user: Sonic R) - I will also send first.

Thank you for your time!

EDIT: I can provide pics upon request.. some games I have are in fair condition - as in some labels are either faded or worn… otherwise, all carts are solid with NO cracks/damage

5200 games that are better than other versions?

Sun Nov 20, 2011 4:36 PM

since playing River Raid in the HSC, I have found out that the 5200 version is probably the best version of this game!

the 5200 has been known for getting flack for not really having any exclusive games… as serviceable versions could be found on other consoles/computers…

these suggestions are likely to be more subjective, but what are some games folks feel that the 5200 version is the best, superior version?

some of my subjective choices:

River Raid
Centipede
Blue Print

any other games that the folks in the community generally prefer the 5200 version above all else?
