Pac-man Update for Atari 8-bit

Sat Nov 26, 2011 7:54 PM

Hi All. Here's a version of Pac-man I've been working on. It's not complete yet, but it's far enough along to let people try out and get feedback. It's built off of Ms. Pacman but heavily modified. I've updated the monster logic and speeds to be a close to the arcade version as possible. I've upgraded the fruit sprites a bit to have two colors. I've also added PAL speed tables so that the characters will move at the same speed on NTSC and PAL machines. There are still a few things I need to work on.

- The menu screen is going to be completely changed to look like the arcade version with animations.
- I'm adding high score saving that will work with the Atarimax flash cart.
- The colors need some tweaking.

The file is a 16k bin that should be loaded into your emulator of choice as a standard Atari 16k cart.
Let me know what you think.

Dropzone for NTSC

Sun Oct 9, 2011 3:36 PM

I was getting frustrated with how fast Dropzone ran on my NTSC machine so I did this little hack to slow the frame rate to PAL's 50hz. Plays much better now.

This is sad

please excuse the poor quality pic.

I saw this light sixer screwed to a wall at a local TGI Friday's. I guess the interior designer thought this was a good use for a vintage game system. To make it worse, the shell is in beautiful condition but they destroyed it by driving two huge screws through the top.

7800 Doner Carts - Need the shells

Fri Jul 29, 2011 4:42 PM

Hello,

I'm looking to collect 7800 cart shells to build my Pokey Kong carts with and would like to buy any carts that you can spare. Doesn't matter if the electronics work or the labels are bad, I just need the shells. But they do need to be Atari brand 7800 carts.

PM me if you have some spare, non-functional or duplicate common carts you would like to sell.

Thanks.

Interest Check - 7800 Pokey Kong

Tue Jul 19, 2011 7:04 AM

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to produce carts of my Donkey Kong sound hack, Pokey Kong. I'd like to know how much interest there is so I can plan how much material, (shells, pc boards, roms, labels) to buy. I'm planning to sell for $25 plus shipping for the cart only. I won't be able to accept orders or build carts until I can thoroughly play test in hardware with the Expansion Module. Hopefully Curt will start shipping the XM soon.

I've attached a version that will run in emulation if you want to try it out. Please let me know if you find any bugs. I've been testing in ProSystem1.3.

Please PM me or respond to this thread if you are interested.

Thanks!

Perry
