Hey,
Well a little about me. I am married and have a son. I am actually young for the Atari 2600 generation, I was just old enough to start playing video games as the Super Nintendo came so I have no re-collection of the Atari 2600 being in productions.
I did own an Atari Lynx when it came out with one of my all time favorite games Chip's Challenge that was later stolen and I never got it back. I miss that system to this day, it was my favorite handheld.
Anyways I got my first Atari 2600 in 2000 but the only game I had for it was Super Breakout and it was neat and everything but I didn't do much with it. About three weeks ago I was at a yard sale and I got a 2600 with 27 games for 5 bucks. Lately I have been getting into older games, and I was wondering what made the Atari so great. Well now I know.
I am also a software engineer/programmer which is what my BA is in. However I have never programmed a video game before. I have been interested in Homebrew games in the past but there never seemed like a good language to do it in.
Well long story short I read about Batari Basic and with the help of several people I have two homebrew in the works. Atomic Meltdown which is actually going to be my first release and Earth Invaders which has been put on hold for the moment due to poor program design (disjaukifa <-- newbie to basic).
Thats it for now, I will update this more later.
Thanks
