FS: Atari 7800 PAL modified with composite and s-video.

Sun Jul 24, 2011 6:55 AM

Hi guys,

I'm selling a PAL 7800 that I've modified with composite and s-video. The systems RF modulator was broken when I purchased the system faulty, but now is putting out a top s-video signal - I have placed the s-video socket where the RF used to be. For sound the system uses the regular "dual mono" setup. The system is in very good condition externally, the protective plastic is still on the metal strip. I am looking for £40 plus postage (depending on where you are). I can provide a UK power supply and some other accessories you might need at extra cost.

I'll get some pics up soon :)

Cheers,

Neil.

Megadrive controller stuck firing on 7800.

Wed Jul 13, 2011 4:30 PM

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to use my megadrive controller with my 7800. I'm not sure if it requires modding - I think that's only for the 2 firing buttons to work independently - but my controller seems to be permanently firing. For example when I start Asteroids, I don't get the title screen because the button is firing, starting the game, and then it's just permanent warping, rendering the game unplayable. I've had a go at switching the player difficulty switches but that doesn't make a difference. What's going on guys?

Cheers :)

Desperate modder needs help finishing s-video mod.

Hi guys :) I've been building an s-video mod from this thread. Using post #1 for hook ups and #15 for the amp circuit.

As you can see, I am having some problems. I have the chroma lines down, the colour looks spot on. I also have the luma lines pretty sorted, with the brightness being exactly where I want it. The bit that I'm tripping up on is the sync line. I have gotten a great picture from my 2600 carts but I cannot get the 7800 games to stop flickering. I have no idea why this is.

The original posters hook up point for the sync line doesn't work well at all with my console so I tried moving it to pins 9+10 of the LS32 above the MARIA on the board which results in the pics displayed in post #30 of the thread above.

Any suggestions would be massively appreciated.
