I was rather shocked to find out this was ACTUALLY a decent game (not one to play for hours but a decent pick up game), with all four rounds on both Summer and Winter bases. (Made by the same company that made Doritos Crash Course for the Xbox 360)
What was even more shocking is the last character to be unlocked was none other than old school throwback Pitfall Hairy. For an update to nowadays graphics, they didn't do bad on old Hairy.
Yes, that's right, I got to experience world 0-1 last night (and no, this wasn't via a Game Genie or anything like that)...
It seems FCEUltra for the Wii doesn't handle Super Mario Bros (and hacks devised from that game) quite correctly, starting the game at World 0-1, instead of 1-1. This is different than World -1 (actually sprite 36 (blank block) - 1), and what the information puts on the game screen as a result. I'm going to document them here as I go thru them all
SMB (Original) - SMB pulls level data from World 4-4 (The Maze Castle level), with the only two exceptions is (One - It doesn't fail for going the wrong way (other than causing you to time out/die for staying on top at the end (due to the brick wall)) and being 100% underwater. Once tagging the end, the game scrolls over without a Mushroom Retainer appearing with wording in Pink "Thank you Mario, Princess in another castle" The game then returns to the opening screen.
I will update with all the hacks as I play thru until they no longer play. Feel free to discuss.
