Upcoming new games ! -- H.E.R.O. -- !

Sun Feb 19, 2012 3:33 PM

Hi everybody... here it is my new project on TI99 : H.E.R.O. ( Activision )

Considered by many to be one of the finest games for the 2600, H.E.R.O. was released in 1984, the year of the great videogame crash. For that reason, it wasn't able to reach the same large audience as that of Activision's earlier masterpieces. The gameplay involves guiding R. Hero through caverns filled with flying critters, tentacles, moving walls, and other dangers. He's equipped with a jetpack, laser beam, and a limited supply of dynamite, all of which will be needed to negotiate a path to his ultimate goal, the trapped miners. Control is perfect, the concept is quite unique, and the gameplay is highly addictive. The game was originally programmed by John Van Ryzin. ( Atariage )

I want to thanks 1 billions times Guillaume Tello for his help in modifying & upgrading nearly everyday his MLC for me ;) Without his help and his fantastic compiler, this game could'nt be done (..by me ).
I hope this game will arouse your curiosity and give a little kick for those who hesitate to code a game

Graphics & game design are converted from the Coleco version. Sprites are converted from the C64 version.

Actually, sounds are really basic, so sorry me..more to come soon !

Here it is my little baby with the help of the powerfull MLC ;)

Kaboom! for TI-99/4A

Thu Aug 18, 2011 2:19 PM

Since i discovered the MLC compiler, i can't stop !

While my wife preparing my bagages for hollyday, i couldn't resist to test something i had in head 6 months ago.. a port of Kaboom !

I started long time ago a post about a interface to connect Atari 2600 Paddles ( and USB Mouse ) to TI99. Now, i have the power to do it.

Just a little preview of the game, PIC interface will follow soon ;)

PS : youtube killed my 50 FPS :(

My first "ASM" TI99 demo

Mon Aug 15, 2011 6:30 PM

this long week was very interesting... i decided to finish at least my game ( Pipe Dream ) for Rainy Days.
So i tryed Peter Krull's compiler, but unfortunally my game is definitively too big.

So i took my courage in hand and started to learn TurboForth. I made some test and it's really very powerfull.
Unfortunally, without docs, it's little bit hard. ( by example, is it possible to BREAK a program ? )
But i'm happy, i understood the base, the stack, etc.. but need to D/L forth manual.

While checking the forth doc on Atariage forum i rediscovered My Little Compiler. Checked a little and finally decided to give a try.
I made my sprite/key/block routine in "assembler", and the result is really amazing ( for me ) :

The problem is...the rest of game still in basic and too slow. i have to convert the rest. but this MLC is really interesting for people
like me, too lazy to start assembler/forth.

I also made a little demo... ( don't take care of the magenta bug ;) ) :

files format

hi everyobdy,

I checked in forum but didn't found the answer.

I need to use real PC99 or V9T9 image ( for Hxc2001 ).
So what program can create PC99 or V9T9 image file ? Is TIdir use V9T9 format ? When i create a .DSK and convert in HFE, it's not reconized.
