In Topic: "Online" passes are now in single player games

I currently have about 100 PS2 games (after I've sold about 100), and my favorite genre is JRPGs (of which about half those 100 PS2 games are). I have somewhere between 200 and 300 games of that style alone in my game collection. My time is limited by work which constantly demmands overtime, putting in hours on the weekends, and crippling sleep apnea. There are not enough bloody hours in the day to play it all now.

Oh sure, we can discuss whether it's fair that some of the NIS releases are insanely difficult without the free DLC. Yep. All that stuff is going to disappear someday. Yep, it sucks.

Does it make the game totally worthless in the here and now? Nope. it's only damaged because of our rare circumstance of overconsumption.

BTW, I'm not quite sure if you're trying to throw my own background in my face, or if you're being honest and our tastes are similar and you were unaware. If it's the latter, then consider your mission successful, because I feel duly invisible and I wonder why I ever bothered posting here. You win. I'm going to shut up now.

Basically you just sound selfish and shortsighted.

Won't Somebody Think Of The Children!!!!!! In other words, right back atcha.

Obviously you don't think a new copy is worth full MSRP. Is it worth 50% MSRP? 30% MSRP? 10% MSRP? Or do you just feel entitled to it for free?

Do you give a fuck about this game? Or are you just worried about some hypothetical child who wants to play it 15 years from now? Don't be worried, I'm sure it will be "archived" so that the currently unborn can play it in 15 years for "historical retrospective."

To be clear, I don't give a festering fuck about this game, or Batman in general. I'm just consistently amazed at the crap that raises a stink here in regards to DLC, Everyone is so concerned about the playability of stuff like Madden and this in 20 years? Really?

As far as I'm concerned, "I paid $60 and I don't feel I got my money's worth of content out of the game." is a valid argument and worthy of discussion. However, "I paid $2.99 to dig the game out of the Gamestop discard bin 5 years after the fact, and I feel incensed that I can't play Catwoman." is not.

I know this is a classic gaming forum and the age of most games in our collections is older than the typical game developer, but this whole argument about "it's crippled in 15 years" is a useless piece of bullshit.

If you want to play the game, play it NOW. Don't worry about 15 goddamn years from now. By obsessing about the game's playability 15 years from now, you're only revealing you don't give a shit about the game in the first place and are just looking for something to bitch about.

Not too long from now, this game will be easily available new for $20 and the same people bitching about it's lack of content at $60 will be complaining about it being "crippled" at $20. Obviously no amount of content is enough.

Saw this game for $10 at a game store a while ago, guess I should have grabbed it.

I saw three of them lined up in a row for $5.95 each at a local store. I knew they had allegedly been "rare and valuable" a few years ago, but I assumed the bottom had simply dropped out of the market for them. When I saw the intial post of the thread, I assumed that $40 was the price for a complete but used boxed copy.

That said, the $5.95 bare carts were gone the next time I went into the store, so someone wanted them.
