You didn't really have to worry whether they were "racist" or not; you knew they were "assholes". And you know what, they may have even grown out of that by now. I know a few people who were complete sacks of crap in school who straightened their act right out; more the exception than the rule, for sure, but it goes to show you never can tell.

Just thinking, after spending most of grades K-10 getting weekly ass-beatings coincinding with constantly being called "geek" "nerd" or "dork", you would think I would get all panty-wadded when hearing those terms, but I wear them as a badge of honor and identify with them. It's more about what's between your ears than anything else.

Jap is definately a racist term in the Japenese culture. Newtype5 has first hand experience on this.
The comments are based upon previous comments from awhile ago.(Jap is used many times around here) wether Ax was one of the people who said It before, I cannot say. According to him it was.
It is True that the US has become a place of everyone being oversensitive all the time. Not sure this is the case here. I'm sure most of you have very "Passionate" feelings on this as I know he does. It is a no win situation for everyone to continue this thread(might as well be talking politics) as people can become very mad about things like this.
Maybe a PM between the two would go a long way?

I am sure that he is done with this thread and wont comment any further, calling him a chicken wont help(His real name isn't Marty McFly)

I think a PM in the first place - "just a heads-up, some people find "jap" offensive" would have gone a long way. I would just bet Ax would have posted "Poll: is "jap" an offensive term?" to gauge what people thought. Waiting to pounce of him when he didnt even do it is pretty weak. I have heard that it is offensive on just a few occasions, however I hear people say it who I know would never use more established slurs. Anyhow, the reply was not really productive. As for me, if I want to insult someone, I dont really need to pick on race, religion, etc; "douche", "asshole" and "dickhead" are descriptive well beyond the bounds of color, etc.
