Gimme a "W"!

Seriously. I just won a C64 computer that is missing its W key. The model is the later white/"c" style. I actually don't care what color the key is as long as it fits. Anyone have one to spare? PM me!

conversions and other stuff

Sun Apr 22, 2012 4:36 PM

I lately rediscovered in my collection of classic computer stuff two books: Marvel Book of Computer Fun volumes one and two. It's a bunch of simple BASIC programs written around Marvel Comics Characters.

I'd like to do them on my Atari 8 bit, but it has no listing! What other popular computers of the time are closest to Atari Basic? I'm guessing C64. How hard would a conversion be?

Also, this will be my first summer off for a few years (I'm a teacher). One item on my to do list is to write a text adventure using AdventureWriter. I'm thinking of doing a Questprobe game featuring... Howard the Duck. Seriously. Never used the program before, any suggestions or advice?

Flashback ROMS

Is it possible to get the roms for sopme of the games that appeared on the Flashback consoles? I'm looking for Space Duel.

Interesting Ad

Visited a local Dollar Tree store today where they were selling bagged comics. For $1 you get two comics from the mid 80's-mid 90's, and an old trading card (usually a sci-fi fantasy movie- I got Alien). Well, one ish I got was Nathanial Dusk - a mini series from 1984 courtesy of DC. Inside there was an ad for Parker Brothers board games based on arcade games.

Now, I've been reading comics since I was 5 (way back in '79) and reading videogame punlications since I was 7. I have NEVER seen this add before! Included were Popeye, Pole Position, Q-bert, and Joust. I have all of those board games except Joust which I had never seen. I heard it was out there but have never actually seen one online, boardgamegeek.com, or anywhere.

This one has been harder to find than the Wizard of Wor and Blue Print board games! Anyone out there have it?

If I get a chance I'll scan the ad and post it. Pretty cool!

Obelisk: Looking for arcade controls

Fri Jan 27, 2012 11:44 PM

So I have a birthday coming up and a friend of mine built me a replica of the Obelisk controller for the 2600. Not sure if the thing was ever released or not. I saw it in the Christmas 83 ish of EG and always wanted one.

Anyway, I am looking for an arcade quality control (actual stick and buttons) with an extra long cord I can install in it. Goat Store used to sell such things, but does anyone else make them?

Here is a pic of the original. Attached File  oblisk.jpg   17.61K   12 downloads I'll post a pic of the one my friend built ASAP.

Also included is a pic of the style of stick I would like.Attached File  clown.jpg   21.17K   17 downloads
