fight for life

evolution dino dudes
power drive rally
tempest 2000
kasumi ninja

I guess it depends on what you're expecting. The Jaguar, as awesome as I think it is, is already well over 15 years old now... (18-19?).

So... most of these games are pretty bad by today's standards.

In my opinion:

Fight for Life - Not worth it unless you're one of those people like me that has to have every game. You'll never really play it again, it's slow, and not that awesome. Good for it's time.

Theme Park - A PC game that just doesn't port well... buy it for $1 buck on eBay and play it on the PC.

Trevor McFur - Cool side-scroller shooter... I like it.

Hover Strike - The CD one just seems to be better, but I liked this game. If you're at that point in your life where you're finished with college, the kids are in bed, and the wife is watching her crappy shows on DVR... this is a game I'd go into the bedroom and play for a few hours.

Dino Dudes - Meh... it's ok.

Power Drive Rally - Love this game... it's RC Pro Am for the Jaguar.

Tempest 2000 - Awesome game.

Kasumi Ninja - Pretty decent.

In Topic: Who makes dial (aka "spinner") controllers for the Jaguar?...

Sat Apr 28, 2012 7:34 PM

Oh man... I have one, but for the life of me I cannot remember where I got it from. I found out about it here... but the controller was very "legit." I mean, the guy who made them had a website, lots of feedback, plenty of previous sales, and he actually made them from brand new Pro or Standard Controllers (you picked). I ended up buying one from him, and it came in the new standard controller box, etc.

I think I paid like $39+ for it, but it was a pretty good deal. It wasn't one of the more well known places like Telegames or Songbird productions, but it was something on here... Maybe it was called the Jaguar Rotary Controller X or something... I don't know... damn...

I remember thinking this game was totally awesome... but looking at the videos online on YouTube... compared with what I consider to be average now, even that game is somewhat dated. The graphics don't appear to be any better than say I-War (which I LOVE!) and Missile Command in the 3D mode.

Graphics are good, but the big improvement is in framerate. It's a pretty stable 30-ish fps, whereas I-War (to me, anyway) is damn near unplayable when things start blowing up onscreen. I lot of that is to be expected, as there's a lot of open space you're flying through, but I think it's aged pretty gracefully.

Yeah, like I said, I've never played it so I only have YouTube videos to go off of... but it reminds me a lot of Wing Commander Privateer in some respects (quality of video I suppose).

But, since we're on the topic, I have to give another plug for I-War... don't know why, but I love that game on the Jaguar... it does slow down a little bit, but damn... even with it's simplistic graphics, it still manages to have "decent graphics"... if that makes any sense?

Still, awesome game... but I certainly can't afford to spend $500+ on a used one on eBay... heh...

In Topic: Wow! Atari Karts is an 8 on the rarity guide?

I've actually always really liked this game. Back in the day (well, early 2000s) on the rare chance that my roommates and I would stay home and play video games, this was one of the ones that we'd actually play. This game and NBA Jam. But Atari Karts really worked well as a two-player game.
