But they play very differently!
Aside from the A8, followed by the C64 - the rest are nowhere near as beautifully balanced and have the tight controls the original has - the UK sourced 8bit conversions (ZX, CPC etc) all look dreadful and feel dreadful to play...
Some even break the basic design - letting Green Yamo follow you everywhere, others have horridly imprecise controls (the BBC one is just beyond belief awful).

P.S. Goonies was done by a colleague of mine at Microprose, all round programming genius Scott Spanburg (he also did the Awesome Pooyan) back before he joined MPS and did little titles like M1 Tank...

The 7800 unit appears to have the same issue whatever TV it is connected to

I'm using an LG47LW650T - and I have to say that both RF for 7800/2600 and composite for XL/XE pictures are fantastic - very stable, vert clear, whilst not VGA quality the PQ is truly excellent - better than my previous 32" SONY LCD, or Bravia CRT...
