without seeing one in person, it looks like a standalone genesis clone that uses the SNES only for power and AV passthrough. similar to the 2600 adapters on for the colecovision and intellivision

i understand why people dislike him, but the first minute of this video shows me that he 'gets it'
youll have a hard time finding a more eloquent description of the 2600. he also gets bonus points for being a bit too young to remember the 2600 in its heyday. making a movie about ET and including HSW in the production seals the deal. he is treating the material with far more respect than he was expected to.

my favorite era was the 16 bit era. i was in high school at the time, so i admit nostalgia plays a big part in my thinking, but the competition between sega and nintendo and the fact that they truly had different styles and approaches to their product is what made that era the best. the pre crash era and the nes era are also memorable and i buy all the logical arguments as to why they were the best. but in my book, the 16 bit era was the zenith.
