Issues I've Posted

Discuss this LINK..
Posted 8 Mar 2010
I downloaded Jammed to test out on a real 2600. I used to own the real game it was based on... Rush Hour or whatever it's called. I believe there's a few different ones.
Sometimes the game played one song at the end of a level, sometimes a different song. I wanted to go see what that meant and also post my comments on the game.
How about adding a "Discuss This" type link to the cartridge database and the store? Would make it easier for me to find the correc thread to post in rather than start a new thread. -
Anyone try this on a real 2600?
Posted 14 Feb 2010
I just tried it on a real 2600 for the first time through the Harmony Cart.
After telling my Girlfriend how to get through the shop she played for about 10 seconds.. your character moves way too fast! Just tapping the joystick and he's all the way across the screen. Will have to check what version I am using. -
Link Broken
Posted 13 Dec 2009
On this page:
Links for Kat5200 and Jum52 not working. The Kat5200 page should point here:

The Jum52, I am unsure.. the linked page doesn't seem to exist anymore. -
Problem with dash
Posted 24 Nov 2009
Think I found a dash bug.
When in the safety zone, you can hold down your fire button for full power, and "dash" out of safety zone. It works on any dash level 1, 2, 3, or 4. Most noticeable on 4 of course because you go farther.
Maybe fire needs to be disable while you're in the safety zone? Maybe if you're on the edge, though, it can still work, like that trick I was doing in previous video where I was part of the way in safety zone and enemy wouldn't touch me and I was firing. -
Better shop idea..
Posted 24 Nov 2009
While I do like the "shop screen", I have a much better idea for it. This is not an issue, but a feature request I think would make a nice addition. I started it here rather than that other topic is because it was long to type.
Currently you have a shop with 4 pictures on one screen. This takes up the whole screen and at first is confusing as to how to exit the shop. I know I was confused my first few times playing because I tried the binary before I found out you described everything in a message.
Here's a better idea:
Have each menu item in the shop as a separate picture, one per screen.. so it would now look like this:
[attachment=145389:shop.gif]
In the picture above, you're on Health. The arrows indicate that there are more selections scroll through and that you can scroll left or right. On the bottom are indicators to show how many
skill points you've already purchased in that item. In my example you can see I've purchased 2 out of 4 Health. Once you use a skill point you automatically exit the shop back to the game.
Example: The menu is arranged as follows, Health, Range, Dash, Rate. If Health is highlighted, pressing right would highlight the right arrow for a second and then change to Range. If you had pressed left it would have highlighted the left arrow for a second and wrapped around to the Rate. You can figure out some kind of visual clue when it switches from one menu item to the next.
Pressing fire selects the current item, so you would increase that stat by one and automatically exit the shop. Once you press the button maybe your new stat point flashes for a second and then it exits shop. If you cannot add any more stats to that item then a sound will occur to let you know. A stat point must be used before game continues.
A thought on upgrades.. In World of Warcraft you can only achieve a certain level, but there are much more upgrades than levels, so you can't obtain every upgrade possible. Maybe this game should be like that? Not sure. Maybe at most you can get is 12 upgrade points, so this way you'd have to be choosy where you want your points to go. Maybe you want to max out Health,
Range, and Rate with 4 points, but give none to Dash. Maybe you want to evenly balance each skill with 3 points a piece, etc. I think 12 seems like a good number. 10 seems to low. 14 seems too high.
I would have drawn a better arrow and indicator system, but am lazy. I figured I'd leave that up to you.
PS - If you have room for an Easter Egg when all is said and done, please do.
